@Anyone that says Sharding is not noticeable

Fair question, but considering how unhappy they seemed about adding sharding to Classic to begin with, I’d say the chances are higher than when they added it to RP servers.

Your definition of “unplayable” is once again, retail mindset.

Many of us have played multiple times at fresh server startups and managed to not have an issue with it.

Tell me then, bucko, how do YOU define “unplayable?” I personally define unplayable in this sense as “constant disconnects, overcrowded zones to the point of being unable to accomplish anything, and craploads of lag.”

Well, Sweetcheeks, let me tell you:
I have yet to be in a situation where the game was “unplayable” when up and running. You play the cards dealt to you. People have even attempted to show you that grouping is something, but even then you take issue with THAT. People mentioned skipping the beginning and coming back. Your response? “some people like to not go out of order”.

As for the disconnects and instability, I will say once again: Blizzard could take some of that billions of dollars and actually have infrastructure that would handle it, WITHOUT anyone playing the game being effected by sharding.

Do you even know how massive an undertaking that would be? They’d have to literally rebuild Battle-net from the ground up. Again. And then they’d have to shift ALL their titles to that new platform.

That’s too much work for something that’s just a little passion project they don’t expect any real profit from.

Let me be perfectly clear:
I
DO
NOT
CARE

I am a customer that is potentially coming back to the game. I literally do not care what they have to do behind the scenes. They put themselves into this position to save pennies to maximize profit.

Do I care what it takes to cook a McRib back in the kitchen?
NO
I just want my damned McRib to taste like it did when I last had it.

That sounds like a definition of “unplayable” based on a retail mindset to me.

I don’t know. To me it sounds like any reasonable person’s definition of “unplayable.” It’s unplayable in the literal sense. You CANNOT play the game under those conditions. You just can’t.

And no, I do not want my McRib to be made out of Soylent Green, just because it might be too much trouble to actually make it out of pork.

…You’re comparing fast food to software engineering? Really?

And yet we did. Many times.

Yeah because you’re about as stubborn as the species your avatar is based on. Doesn’t make you right.

IMO, your perception is skewed by that retail mindset.

Of course someone with a retail mindset is going to think that a retail mindset is “reasonable” since they share that retail mindset.

So now you have shown your true racist colors.

Nice

I can do analogies just fine, but you’re comparing apples to oranges. I’m a customer too, but unlike you I base my expectations off of reality, not ideals. I learned the hard way not to be such an extreme idealist.

“Stubborn as a bull” is somehow racist?

Vanilla and bc did fine

Someone please post the Picard face palm gif. I do not have the energy to swap to the gnome to do it.

They did not. Objectively. Not at launch. During the REST of the installments’ lifetimes, sure, but launch was hell for literally every iteration of WoW that’s come out.
