Anyone playing Genshin Impact?

Just started it tonight. Looking amazing on my Ultrawide. Seems like a pretty chill game so far. The music and scenery and breathtaking personally

Anyone playing it?

Nope! I looked into it and decided I wasn’t interested.

Glad you’re having a good time though.

Been thinking about it, but I’m conflicted. On the one hand it seems like an interesting game with beautiful visuals. On the other it’s a Gacha designed to milk your wallet into a dry husk and it’s made by China so potential spyware ect ect.

Nah but I heard good things about it. Apparently it’s fun as a Gacha game without being too ridiculous about it.

Can be worse than valorant

And im not to familiar with Gacha games. Ill see how that comes into play when it comes up. I don’t plan on dropping anything on it

250 GB of instalation for PC

NO WAY…

It’s ok. Not a fan of gliding being the main focused mechanic. It’s like they took that idea from BotW (plus much more about the game) and just made it the center focus.

Game was fun though until items to level characters became more scarce.

A few weeks back my son asked me to download it because people he watches play it. After about 2 hours he shut it off and hasn’t touched it since.

I’ve seen a stream or two but somethings just… off?

I know this will sound silly when talking about a literal product but it just feels so manufactured and fake to me, very corporate.

I am not anti establishment and trying to destroy the triple A scene or anything… just kind of human nature to recognize traps and falsities.

Yo give me your thoughts and all that i downloaded that on my phone but haven’t got to it yet. I had to get a new phone and its worse than my previous one with heat issues so i been reluctant to try it.

I enjoyed it until I got to end game, and then the grind became too boring and too much for me and I gave up on the game.

Also, what do you have against valorant, my good sir?

Isn’t that game the next Tiktok in disguise?

Looked cool.

The voice acting was terrible and the phone game practices made me uninterested.

It might spark a trend of copy cats though and that scares me, it could really mess up the gaming industry when it really does not need help with that.

Battle royales were an annoying trend but they were never as harmful as what Genshin impact is doing.

Create a trend of gacha games? I doubt it. Really only a select group of people like those kinds of games. Genshin Impact only became as popular as it did is because of anime, streamers covering it, and it’s a well polished game at its core.

Besides, they’re already getting some backlash for being very greedy.

That are now pushed on bigger platforms than phones.

These types of practices are not good and could appear a lot more frequently in the gaming industry.

And you know companies would just LOVE to monetize this way.

I strongly dislike gacha games.

So no.

Wouldn’t touch it with a ten foot pole if made by China don’t trust em one bit after Covid. Feel sorry for the people living their tho.

Okay… refusing to consume their products is one thing

but dragging the pandemic into this and blaming it simply on china is irresponsible and just in general thinking i don’t care for

the moment people started treating social distancing as a political stance instead of safety measures is the moment things would become worse

and our president cutting funding to CDC and disbanding the global pandemic office

but pitter patter :upside_down_face:
