Don’t want to waste my love tokens, so I thought I’d ask before I set out on said journey of “I Pitied the Fool” achievement.
Looks like it’s random. This is the latest ticket response from the 5th of this year, posted on Wowhead comments:
I can say that at the time being there is a rarely seen issue that is causing this inconvenience. Our Dev Team is currently working on a proper fix for this matter so it does not impact any more players. Once there is a proper update for this situation it will be posted in our official channels. I know it can be a bit tedious, to wait for a proper outcome, but to get a solution we should contact a more specialized team for these cases, we as GM have limited skills with bugs. Please bear in mind that in the interest of an unbiased and fair support service to all our gamer community we may not always be able to provide a workaround or immediate solution to bug related issues. To help this process you can submit an in-game bug report as well."
I’d check out all of these comments, as there are some workarounds.

The workarounds are either older versions of the game and no longer relevant, or referring to other locations than Naxx (Lots of issues with Arathi Basin or CoS that are worked around or based on misunderstandings).
I’d be curious to know if anyone has been able to place a Love Fool in Naxx starting with resets this Tuesday (2/4) - As I’ve not yet met a single person who has claimed to have been able to do it since then. I have met people who were able to do it during this Love is in the Air, but the holiday launched Monday and the ones I’ve seen are people who did it as soon as they were on the day of the Holiday.
I’m seriously suspecting something broke it on Tuesday for EVERYONE. But if anyone has actually gotten it to work, let us know.
Also, OP & anyone else experiencing the issue, please submit an in-game bug report and comment on one of the threads in the Bug Report forums to try and get some visibility on the issue and get it fixed before the holiday ends.

Once I get the required love tokens, hubby and I are going to attempt to get the achievement.
I’ll update here and Wowhead if we are able to accomplish this feat.

I completed it on Tuesday. I can’t for the life of me remember if I did it before or after the reset though.
My assumption is afterwards however, because the Tuesday reset is when I got the love rocket drop, and I know I finished the meta achievement after getting the rocket drop.
So yeah it would have been after the reset.

Yeah, the only other person I’ve talked to who has actually done it was also Tuesday, but haven’t been able to confirm before or after reset from them yet.

So friggin weird. Do you remember in what part of the instance you were and were you queued or did you just fly in?
We’re going to get a solution to this Naxxramas problem. In my best RvB Sarge voice
I believe I had it set to normal ten man legacy, solo, just flew in, stepped a few paces forward, dropped the love fool, pitied it, and walked out.
I read on wowhead that the toy cannot be used in instances, like naxx or strat. It has to be the uncommon item bought from the vendor, one use only. Maybe that’s the issue people are having?

Unfortunately, I tried with the one-time use Love Fool.
I’ll try again tomorrow. After I reset my UI… again.
