This company is the absolute WORST to deal with. I keep getting booted from the game with the BLZ1901016. I KNOW it’s spectrum and not Bliz BECAUSE I can’t even load a damn web page atm. Its been THREE days that I can not get on to the game. It’s been a nightmare and I cant enjoy JJ because of it. I have never had issues like this with Verizon or Comcast, ever. This isn’t the first incident with this happening either now. Can I cancel my contract without having to pay a severance if they can’t even give what they promised? I’m not even asking for faster speeds at this point just something that WORKS and it ain’t with spectrum; I can tell you that much!
I have been experiencing the same issue since DF launch and it’s seemingly gotten worse the past couple weeks. Only time I ever seem to run into issues is while I’m actively logged in to WoW. If I’m not logged in everything seems to work fine, but then when I’m on WoW everything just goes to crap.
I have Spectrum without issue. Call them and figure it out. I’m not sure how we can tell you what they’ll allow or won’t allow.
spectrum in my area (SoCal) is having issues with WoW, you will dc from blizz services very frequently during peak times on WoW. I have this issue, my buddy has this issue who is also on spectrum 1 mile away from. I actually have a 2nd network in the house (AT&T), and when I swap over to that network the DC issue stops happening.
it’s been happening since at least Sept. 2022 for us. In fact my buddy does not have a 2nd network and instead had to purchase a VPN service and the DCing has stopped.
are you repeatedly dcing over and over every so often?
i’m currently having no issues with spectrum. (central wisconsin.)
i have spectrum and yea they can be a headache at time my internet would go out here and there maybe once every 2-3 months for about an hour or longer.
have you tried rebooting your modem and router? if not call them tell them whats going on and they should send someone to check it out. last time i had to call them turns out my damn outlet was screwed up they had to replace it cause internet connection kept going on and off
Are you using a decent modem and router? Do you have neighbors with similar issues? If you’re on cable internet, are all the contacts tight and in good shape? There could be any number of reasons why your speeds are bad. If all of the above are good, consider paying for a business plan, they are about 20 bucks more a month and speeds are guaranteed, unlike residential.
I have Spectrum in Ohio.
I did have a few problems a coupla months ago, but it’s stopped.
Do as Lethidoxi suggested. Unplug the Modem and the Router. They say 30 secs but I wait at least a minute. Once it’s rebooted and lights are steady I then plug in the router.
We had to get a new router and modem. The older ones seem to be having issues.
At least ours did. We had a 6 yr old modem and when they upgraded our internet to 300 it caused lag and dc’ing.
If those don’t work, call Spectrum. If nothing else they’ll send someone out.
You can i think also call spectrum have them check the comnection on their end and if good possibly swap out your router and modem. If that is for sure good then have them send someone. If router and modem is under them idk if they will swap for a new one for free you can ask. I just but my own and set it up.
If you dont know how to reset your modem and router just google it to access the website and password typical is on the device on a white sticker
That indicates that Spectrum has overloaded the node you’re on and peak hours cause traffic shaping (QoS) to become active. That will prioritize some things over others and for realtime games such as WoW that can mean disconnects. I would make a thread in the Customer Support forum the next time you have a disconnect like this and provide a WinMTR report (as text in the forum post).
If you are able to, also try viewing your cable modem’s signal page. For most cable modems it is found at https://192.168.100.1. If your cable modem or gateway is made by Arris, you will likely be asked to provide a username and password. For Arris devices that is admin / Last 8 characters of the serial number on the unit’s sticker. If you can get that make sure to provide that as well in your forum post as it can potentially be used to further isolate any possible issues you’re having.
I have Spectrum and haven’t had issues. My plan doesn’t have a contract, so perhaps yours doesn’t either?
they have to be literally one of the worst companies out there
sorry your having to deal with them
comcast is much much much worse.
spectrum is ok were i live but i had a friend who lived in north carolina with spectrum and constantly had same issues as you.
MAKE SURE you have fairly recent equipment. I had the modem go out several years back, turned it in at their office to a set of confused faces (duh wut? sorry we’re all high as kites right now can you back next week?) and they gave me an EVEN OLDER modem. That died soon after. Took it back to the office AGAIN, threatened the stoners with police intervention if they didn’t get their supervisor (also high) to give be a NEW GENERATION MODEM.
Luckily for me that was right at the time the regional boss showed up, pulled them all in the back for some shouting. Then the regional boss helped all 3 of us customers to our satisfaction and got new(ish) equipment.
The stoners I assume got fired (hurray!).
Having this same issue there are dead times where it works fine (like 3am lol) but then as it gets closer to noon through like 10/11pm I deal with constant massive lag spikes and disconnects. If I am just browsing the web or something I don’t encounter the issue it’s only when I play WoW and it impacts my entire internet. It seems like when I am in less populated zones/areas it occurs less so not sure if there is an increase in data with being in close proximity to numerous players causing Spectrum to throttle or something.
Companies do throttle during peak time
If you don’t use your own modem, make sure you have the Spectrum 2.5 Gigabit router. It is the newest one. But don’t use their router. It is crap. A good mesh router will probably be best.
1GB Mediacom Xtream here…up from 16mb DSL from frontiernet
Curious what servers people are on that are having this issue.
