Anyone for playin FFXIV?

I’m sorry but I can’t play with 3-5 hour queues.

I’ve never played but I’m tempted, I’ve heard the main story can be a bit of a slog to get through before the fun expansions start.

I tried FFXIV twice and both times quit due to boredom.

Just not my bag.

And no playable zombies or mohawks; disgraceful.

It’s a good game, just doesn’t itch my fantasy desires like WoW does. Plus their raiding is a little bit less exciting in my opinion.

it is a really good game though and I bet anyone reading this would get enjoyment out of the story at a minimum

Yeah this is true. The entire first part of the game is mostly world building and basic stuff (in other words, the vanilla a realm reborn). You eventually get this 45 minute cut scene where the story takes off like a rocket and its pretty good from there.

Tbh, its a better mmo than WoW on basically all fronts other than pvp. However, its not WoW. The nostalgia factor / history / lore of WoW is not in FF14. Its a different game with far superior devs and a way more meaningful story, but it’ll also take you a few hundred hours to work through that story.

That being said, they also had queue issues on their most recent expansion. I just trust them 10x versus blizzard to actually do something about it in the future. Blizzard is an absolute embarrassment. They have ZERO excuse for having a supply and a demand issue on a VIRTUAL PRODUCT. As somebody that works for a large corporation, this disgusts me. Imagine selling a product made of nothing, and not having enough of it to bring in all of your customers. Its embarrassing. They deserve to go out of business for this type of garbage, but then again, they are a hollowed out husk of what they used to be.

If you do try it few things, Don’t do side quests, only do MSQ quests, Job quests, and Quests with a Blue marker (those unlock features). And don’t skip MSQ or job quest cutscenes they are very good. Combat starts off slow but as you level more your get more off GCD actions to weave and it speeds up.

They have also been actively improving the base ARR game with dungeon updates and the like to make it more friendly. But it’s your choice.

As for hairstyles they do have Afro’s, no mowhawks.

No.

10 letters.

True but you can be an ayaya QT

You know that FF14 has a dungeon finder system too, pretty much every other game in existence has dungeon finder, but WoTLK classic, can’t for some unknown reason

You didn’t play Endwalker release? Every server had 6 hour queues and errors that would kick you out of queue and put you back at the end of the line if you didn’t log back in fast enough. At least with wrath i don’t have to babysit the queue. I can go play another game, go get takeout/fast food, do other things than sit at my pc making sure i didn’t get disconnected from the queue.

This aint nothing.

It is true that I have not played that expansion but Legion. There were no queue problems and the hype was greater than WTKL

Just transfer to another server.

Implying that ff14 did not have the same problem on launch, and it was the main reason why I stopped playing the new expansion

I plan on dropping WoW for FF14 for a few months either this week or next week, the games gotten kinda stale, and the lies are getting out of hand, along with the sh…erm, the defecation-show that’s going on with the auto-report system

I haven’t even touched the prepatch since abyssos came out.

It is a total slog. I’m sure it gets much better but the start is just way too boring!

It’s real rough starting out but as it gets closer to the first expansion it starts to pick up speed, then really takes off when the expansion proper starts. Would definitely recommend if you enjoy Final Fantasy plots

I thought about playing that game but the expansion purchases are soo confusing and soo dang expensive to catch up lol. I play Neverwinter. It’s free.

You’ll love FF14 then, enjoy
