Feel super demotivated to play slands.

I don’t think I’ve ever been less excited about a wow expac in my life.

Maybe it’s just being unhappy with ele design.
Maybe it’s giga burnout from bfa and what that xpac did.

But this is the first time ever where I don’t even feel like leveling on release or playing the first season.

Yep, I’ve barely logged in for the last month. Typically, I’m really excited for a new expansion. However, BFA really deflated me. I’m not overly optimistic about SL, and gearing looks atrocious.

In S4 of BFA, I was forced to PvE to catch-up to grind 2.4 on my alt toon. I swore to myself that I would never play an aspect of a game that I don’t enjoy again to PvP. Looks like Blizzmorons are forcing us into that route again. I’m either severely gimped by wearing strictly PvP gear or I give in to the game that Blizzard wants us to play.

It’s going to suck. I feel you brother.

I came back after five years and this is the state of pvp. it saddens me a little when you enter a bg in full blue pvp gear and everyone calls you useless, belittles you, and then tells you to pve to play pvp… that stacked with versatility on pve gear made me a sad panda returning.

8.3 was the most exhausting patch in the history of wow. The amount of weekly chores you had to do just sucked the life out of you. I ended up quitting for the last 2 months of the patch and I still feel like I didn’t get a full recharge when I came back for prepatch.

New wow expansions haven’t felt exciting anymore since Legion. New wow expansions now feel pretty much like Destiny 2 expansions on a 2 year cycle.

I feel you. Class design is a dealbreaker. We can qq about flawed gearing systems all day, but the bottom line is: if specs are intuitive, fun and thoughtful to play, it makes sucking up awful gearing systems easier.

You can take almost any spec, compare their current iteration to the past, and be left wanting.

I’ve just come back from an 8 month break from WoW. Ever since the end of WoD, I’ve been quitting faster, and for much longer. Might be time to quit for good tbh

I agree. Shaman is the only class I can play anymore because the rest are all boring to me, and ele went from being incredibly fun 3 months ago to so boring that I’d rather play enhance and even then only for stuff that I literally can’t do on rsham like rare mobs or something.

If I get bored of rsham I’m just going to quit the game. Feelsbadman

Wish I could say so man but I’m actually excited for it. Boomys changes I love. Feral didn’t change so much as it just got some spells back which are still good. Some of the passives in the new system remind me of legion’s which honestly were good in my opinion. I mean borrowed power will never be preferred however as long as it’s not a gross amount of stat bloat it’s going to be better than bfa.

I think removing pve trinkets alone will make it just fine. Obviously some tuning needs done on one shots but overall the pacing is better in my opinion.

BFA was the 1st for me.

Slands def the 2nd, but having gone through BFA we already know all garbage systems that are coming and we don’t believe all these fake news promises. The shred of hope isn’t as present.

Been telling the boys I’m just trying to bridge to TBC before the next enhance nerf.

I’m excited for the xpac in general, but its definitely not because of what’s it offering. I guess a part of me is simply enthusiastic to play an xpac that somewhat ties back to this whole Lich King, scourge, and “shadowlands” lore. Another part of me is interested to find out actually how PvP will feel like (since I haven’t played Beta) with some of the unpruning that’s been done.

Overall, excitement levels surely aren’t as high as it was back in the day, but I’m just happy that BFA is over and we’ll never see an abomination of an xpac like that ever again unless things go completely south in SL.

I’m not super pumped either

Usually I’m excited to level as soon as the expansion releases, check out the new zones, see the new things etc. but I’m actually thinking of waiting a few weeks or a month before I even play it

I might not play at all. Idk what it is, I just don’t feel like a have to play it if that makes sense

I was very excited about SL up until the point where they didn’t follow up on “active PvP tuning”. I’m not really sure why they promised this, put in a blue post, and then largely ignored any PvP tuning. Even the twitter post by Ion stating “trinkets will be handled, especially outliers causing issues on beta” has been completely disregarded, and obviously fell extremely short.

So far every change we have seen seems to be in response to something causing issues in PvE. The only 2 changes I have seen so far that we’re aimed at PvP was nerfing Ele shaman aoe team 1-shot, and the glitch with sub 100% crit and using 2x legendary effects.

The only reason I’m still excited is because MM has been fun, and I want that S1 glad mount. Once I get the mount though, I’m not sure if I will continue playing WoW anymore unless they start to show they care about PvP again.

The failure to deliver adequate PvP gearing changes and testing as well as the absurd amount of “systems” and incessant grinding really sucks any excitement and hope out of me. I get that there needs to be stuff for players to do and if it’s not there a lot will quit like what happened in WoD, but their current philosophy of adding never ending grinds and layers upon layers of systems like some disgusting skinner-box lasagna is just as bad.

What they fail to realize, or maybe they do and just don’t care, is that if a method to improve your character exists the majority of people are going to feel compelled to do it. And they will for very long periods of time while simultaneously being very unhappy about. However at some point they will become fed up with it and reach a point where it’s just not worth it anymore, and when that point comes it won’t be like WoD where they had fond memories but just didn’t have enough to do and might return. They will be thoroughly and completely exhausted and done with the game with their last interaction being entirely negative and they’re not getting someone to come back once that happens.

I think their current practices are showing them what they want to see in the short term, but in the long run it’s going to backfire on them. And I think they started to see the first inklings of that toward the tail-end of BfA.

You don’t consider PVP vendors and the Stat relocation to be adequate? The community asked for BOTH of these things! No to mention, they even gave us a set bonus with the trinkets, which the community also asked for.

There isn’t much grinding in Shadowlands actually. There will always be some sort of grind, because it’s an MMO-RPG… but compared to Legion + BFA, the grind is minimal. Blizzard really delivered this time around and created rewards that feel fulfilling, yet don’t necessitate hours upon hours of grinds.

I’ve seen this comparison few times now. I’ve worked with Skinner’s work extensively, and I just don’t see it. Can you explain the connection?

It’s simple really. There’s a few steps you need to take.

When you turn on your computer and load up your browser, you need to go to browser settings. Once there, you need to scroll down to the advanced section and click on it. Scroll down further and click on proxy settings. Click on the advanced tab. Then click restore advanced settings. Wait until it stops spinning. Then you will need to…

Don't click this until you finish the above..

Yeah, we asked for a car and they delivered a bicycle with no wheels. Still a form of transportation, but completely useless as it is.

I was hoping there would be more signs of changes and improvement for SL PvP.

Unfortunately, based on the beta, Blizzard seems to be in emergency fix-it mode for PvE, and they’ll worry about the PvP stuff later.

Considering what happened to PvP in BFA, I get the sinking feeling that SL will just be a continuation of poor, infrequent PvP balance changes, let the meta evolve on its own, broken OP PvE gear, etc.
