In AC, bear druid who has been pulling as fast as he can with no regard to anyone in the group pulls 3 packs of skeletons. Shocker we wipe. He then proceeds to berate me because I’m a mage and AOE is “easy” (I’m fire BTW…). I say “lets stop doing stupid things and finish this.” He kicks me from the group…
I mean really these tanks are honestly out of hand. They are in such demand that it goes to their little heads. The truth is ITS A VIDEO GAME GUYS your role as a tank doesn’t make you any more special or worthy of praise.
Treating people poorly because you are in demand in a video game makes you a next level of pathetic that is hard to express in words.
Anyways, idc if its childish or lame, I’m putting out a PSA on this guy to the /1 and /4 channels until I don’t see him log in again.
What’s your experience with childish tanks? That is certainly not my only one… Also why are healers cool still? they are often needed just as much as tanks…

If a tank is pulling when people are OOM and still recovering from last pull, then they are a bad tank.

Ngl I am often reluctant to aoe unless I know the tank is good. If they are a paladin I may start up with some seeds, but warrior or druid no way. I tend to stay close to them while doing my aoe so when I pull agro they don’t have to run to grab it back.

Oh yea I have improved blizz but I pulled aggro on the entire room after I saw them all go for the healer, problem was healer was next to me so slap… I’m dead.
I just wish I had some kind of recourse… but nope I lose 3 badges and 40mins of my time bc this dudes a moron lol.

Same here. If the tank is not a paladin I pretty much do not AOE at all unless it is someone I know (who I know can sustainably keep aggro).
Nova, blink, aoe. If you died to the MELEE ONLY skeleton mobs as a mage then I’d have kicked you too, although I wouldn’t be running with pugs to start with.

So childish tanks are a problem, but childish dps that try to get someone blacklisted because of a bad experience are fine?
As opposed to treating them poorly in public channels over an extended period of time because you lost a couple of badges?
Yeah, it sounds like that tank wasn’t great. Feel free to add them to your ignore list and warn your guild. Mounting a personal crusade to get them blacklisted or harrassed off your server is far worse.
Perhaps dps like you are part of the reason why so few tanks are willing to risk pugging…

That guy always comes on here, makes quick comments, and then never replies to any responses to those. He’s called me names before as well with no explanation as to why. Don’t worry about him.
I have no idea what happened in this run but on the subject, I’ve found egotistical players in multiple areas of the game and multiple roles. I can’t stand them either. It is a problem with tanks because there aren’t enough so just kicking isn’t usually a great option. At least with servers you can put them in a list and never group with them again.

Haha sounds about right… I mean is it just me or now a days there is much LESS accountability online(if thats even possible lol)? He acts that way towards people because he can get away with it.
So yea spamming his name in trade chat is lame, don’t get me wrong I know that lol. BUT isn’t that also a piece of what makes classic special? There IS a social aspect and if I do spam his name a few times each night there will be consequences to his actions…
In 16 years I’ve never been kicked from a dungeon and I used to pug a lot.

Overblown garbage one bad time equals 1000 in wow. Now you know why everyone liked wrath better they got rid of the most bs thing wow ever had lack of threat.
As someone who tanks on both Paladin and Warrior, please don’t stay close to me if you are a ranged DPS or healer, stay at range.
You require 130% threat to rip agro at range but only 110% while in melee and every tanks have tools to pick mobs back up, the closer you are, the faster the mobs gets to you and the less time a tank has to react to save you.
