Yeah, just like server population, density at the current level, time to get a group…
The different specific instances changed but it comes down to the same thing
EDIT: replied to the wrong post
Perfect example of being ill equipped for social interactions.
I’m pro return to office and pro RDF. Return to office because my breaks actually exist again, and pro RDF because i dont want to have to talk to random people

but are you pro “Everyone has to return to the office” or just an opportunity for you?
Also, if you’re not getting breaks when working remotely that sounds like an issue that needs to be resolved.
Some people just don’t want to socialize. A solid half the population are introverts. Talking to people about “their weekend” or “the weather” is something I have zero interest in. I am not here to make you feel better as you rattle on to me about all the uninteresting stuff going on in your life. We aren’t sounding boards for people that get emotional energy from yapping.
oh work gives me breaks, but because im at home that means when i go on my smoke break the people in my house now want attention, as i said its terrible for work/life balance really and truely. I’m pro everyone returning to work. It’s time people buck up, put on your khaki’s and polo’s and get back to the office.
excatly, I like working at the office but unless I know someone at the office I tend to keep to myself, and that is preferable to me, I dont know why introverts however feel the need to stay home, the office presents structure and schudles, and give you a reason to put on pants
I would add that some people don’t want to socialize all the time. If I’ve got 30 minutes to run the dungeon, I might want to get it done quick but if I’ve blocked out half a day I might want to socialize more.
Not to mention that WoW is not the best socialization medium. Most people, even close guilds, do more on discord than in game.
Yeah, honestly that is what I meant. As an introvert I still socialize, just with people I have meaningful relationships with and on my terms. I get home from work pretty emotionally exhausted and sometimes even have a hard time carrying on a convo with my wife. The last thing I want to do is carry on some convo about some sports team in chat while we wait for the last DPS to arrive. I have no problem talking mechanics and strat but again, that to me, is meaningful.
Heh, you do realize you sound an awful lot like an anti-rdfer rnight now ![]()
No not in the slightest, they arn’t connected. Pugs are annoying as its a bunch of random strangers that now I have to find, put together and tolerate vs RDF where blizzard finds them, and I don’t even need to have party chat turned on, because its no longer my job to speak to them, merly to get my loot. RDF and WFH do not share any similiarity.
I agree, but the arguments for and against those are almost identical.
nah I like structure and organization and a work/life balance. RDF vs Pugging are both chaotic, except pugging requires me to be more social, I work in IT, I’m not required to be social at work, not in the slightest. The joys of being a sys admin.
They why do you care where your colleagues work?
because my colleauges belong at the office where if i need them to fix something on the server outside of my area, or there is a firewall issue ect I can reach them easily have them get to work on the job at hand. It’s down right infuriating right now having to rely on teams, and not getting an anwser for an hour or more, way easier in the office because when they don’t respond on teams I can walk to the next row of cubicles and ask them if they saw my message and ask when they are fixing that issue.
Why, because you have a bizarre sense of entitlement to my attention?
If you’re doing a parody here, it’s freaking brilliant. I mean the way you illuminate the selfishness of the anti–rdf camp. I mean, that’s genius level.
Well done sir.
I’m not illuminating anything, the simple fact is most jobs require team work, except maybe those weirdos that do graphics and music, but lets be honest those arn’t real jobs. But WFH has seen my ability to organize the team and get stuff fixed slip, as people are far more distracted at home. Lucky for me mandatory WFH goes into affect in october, and I get to return to the office, right now I can’t as my department is getting new cubicles and furniature as well as new carpet, and I hear our break room got redone with new vending machines that hopefully give me Dr Pepper instead of just keep my dollar bill.

If i’m more productive in shorts and a T shirt than you are in a polo and khaki’s, guess who the first person let go is when its time to make cuts. I’m going to assume you’re a little on the older side (40+) because thats a very old-timer point of view. Companies are all about money. If me working at home saves them money and increases productivity, then thats the decision that the business is going to lean toward.

You have a schedule working from home. Most jobs monitor your activity the entire time you’re clocked in, and know when you are and aren’t at your PC. Also, most jobs that can be done at a PC technically don’t require pants.
