If I say “yes”, will that make you feel better about your choice?
No 'cause I don’t need validation LOL
…but you made this thread.
So? That doesn’t mean I’m seeking validation.
Ok
(10 chars lol)
I’m just using vendorprice.
not a single addon in use… Not sure how much longer I’ll refrain - threat meter and cast bar is almost getting a necessity for this toon
Quick internet search would do the trick. Or word of mouth in game. I didn’t know about Questie until I was about level 18 or so on this character. Downloaded it and installed, don’t regret it one bit!
Not using addons is not “old school.” I’ve used addons since the week WoW was released.
There have always been some people who choose not to use them for whatever reason and oddly there have also always been those occasional ones that get some odd sense of pride out of not using them.
Exactly.
IK that. I’m just saying, you wouldn’t know about it before actually playing the Game, the first time you enter WoW.
In a sense, it kind of is. In the grand scheme of things, we’re pretty virgin, when it comes to finding extra additives to enhance our Gameplay. It’s not just WoW, but Games like the Sims with Mods and CC. You don’t know about them without research or word of mouth. But how often does that happen before your first day of playing the Game?
If you ever researched wow before hand, or googled what it was about, then maybe you’d come across an add on site. Not everyone jumps into a game blind. Or another thought, they learned about the game from a friend who told them about add ons. It’s okay to use them, they’ve been around since launch of the game.
And not everybody researches every video game they play. I can understand if you want to play it seriously but not everyone is playing a game for competitive reasons. I was introduced to WoW through Friends who did use Addons, and they did tell me about them, but I was still good without it because I wasn’t playing for the competitiveness. And this isn’t a knock at Addon users. This is just a Thread about those who don’t use Addons.
It doesn’t have to be anything more than that.
I know, but some do. I’m just letting you know how new people might still use add-ons, and that’s fine to do.
To each their own. Not sure why you even started this thread tbh
IK but again, it’s not like there’s a majority that know about Addons on their first day of WoW. That’s all I’m saying.
6.5 million have downloaded questie. I think people are fine with add-ons
I’m talking about back in the day. Obviously not now.
Yea even then, lots of people used them.
On their very first day of WoW? Yeah, unlikely. People don’t find out about Addons until later. I’m not denying that people used them, back in the day. I’m just saying, not a lot downloaded Addons on their first day of WoW.
Well we are a month into Classic wow. It’s okay to use them.
People likely did find out about them on their first day because general chat.
They also found out about things like thottbot because anytime anyone asked a question in general they were told about that site.
