I’ve been having issues since the update about an addon trying to access something only blizz UI can, then I get a black bar near the middle of my screen… have to reload ui to get rid, but eventually happens again

It’s most likely Questie. One of the quest is conflicting, gotta figure out which one and delete it from your log
Nope. Questie has been disabled. Someone else in guild had this problem, and disabled the addon it said… and it just moved to a diff addon, same result

You should get a text box stating which addon is making this happen.

As I said, it does… but if u disable it it just moves on to the next one
For now mine says its GlobalIgnoreList

Same thing happened back in Classic when getting the Blizzard UI pop-up for entering BGs. - In that it just moved to another addon.
I also get this black bar, it seems to happen if you do a shift-click on someone’s name in chat. Something about not being able to find the player due to faction. - At least for me.
Question: Did they implement a ‘Spectator Mode’ for Arenas in TBCC? I ask because this is about the only thing that would allow you to interact (ie Inspect, /who) with the opposing the faction. If this is the case, then it’s probably a bug that was introduced and addons are triggering it unintentionally.

I hope whatever it is, addon or not, gets fixed… This has been annoying as all hell. I get an error every time I log in now too. If I disable that addon, a diff addon gets an error when I login/reload, and so on and so on…

Happens to me when I open the social panel (to see who is on in the guild).
I’m not sure it is an add on. It is so random it is hard to test.

That’s been happening, I just updated my addons today and now this error on load happens. Kills the addon too
YES! I wish I could figure out which one is causing it because each time its a different addon error.
I dont know how all that stuff works, but I feel like someone missed a " ; or ) somewhere and recked all of them, lol
Happening to me as well…each time I get the error its a different addon…so frustrating!! Hopefully someone figures this one out.
The addons are out of date so not compatible with the game. Been happening with questie, quality of life and a couple other addons I just click ignore when I get the message if I get the black box just reload ui.
Only other way to fix is wait for the addon update or disable them until they are updated.

Like someone else mentioned, the addon changes and the error persists. It seems to occur most often when opening the Social Tab for me as well and the error message will specify that an addon tried to “call the protected function 'GuildControlSetRank()” or some other message.
Happened with Gathermate, Questie, NovaworldBuffs and LFG Bulletin so far.
The black bar that appears in the center is probably the most annoying part.
same here questie is saying it is trying to access a part of the ui that is only allowed by blizzard.
Yesterday it happened to me three different times and stated it was due to three different add ons.
After I reload UI then everything works fine until I log out then log back in. Then it’s another add on…
So it randomly picks an addon to get messed up. That tells me that the black bar is a blizzard issue since inevitably ALL the add-ons give the error but it’s a different one every time.
