Anyone else feel like Wrath was overhyped?

This expansion feels incredibly forced—the dungeons feel overly “epic” and massive. I feel as though the charm from Vanilla was lost in Wrath.

I can’t exactly describe it, but I feel like this expansion is trying to take itself too seriously…if that makes sense.

Overall I think it’s a good game…but it just feels like this is where the game started to move away from the spirit of the game that was established in Vanilla

This argument is hilariously bad lol. Yes we are playing on that version on the game in terms of class balancing. That’s it. Is ICC released?? Did I miss Ulduar already?? Oh wait no that’s right those are coming out in the future, just like I would be willing to bet RDF will eventually as the game moves along.

Every single Garmuck thread is just a thinly veiled RDF thread.

Just because you don’t care doesn’t mean that reality is any different than what we’re both currently experiencing.

3.5 balancing made P1 faceroll af, heroics are a joke and player power is far too high. I was reading old Wrath threads and people weren’t even doing 5 - 6k DPS until ICC back then and we got people pumping that in Naxx.

All the content will be pulverized due to the balancing patch we’re on.

My point is that regardless of the phase we’re in, the patch we’re playing on originally had RDF and it doesn’t make sense to only keep the balancing but not the tool that was what widely made that patch popular in the first place.

Yeah it does make sense, I get what you’re trying to say. Idk how to word it either, but it def. doesn’t feel like the other expansions we played and it feels more tryhard in a way.

He would quit even with it. He’s just salty

yea true man wotlk very boring all the content done, 1 phase only see you in firelands

wait wait wait, are you actually trying to say if we had the first patch, the raid wouldn’t be cleared day one???

that’s wrath.

try reading old threads of vanilla, and compare it to classic launch…

We live in a different time, people know how to gear properly now.

Nope. I’m saying because we have 3.5 balancing it was incredibly easy to clear, I don’t what it would’ve been like if we’re not on this patch but judging from old Wrath posts it looks like this balancing made classes a lot stronger than they were before except for some like DK.

Which proves my point, yes. We’re talking about Wrath.

And we’re on a 3.5 patch where classes are stronger, you keep escaping that but it’ll keep coming back.

Sounds like you didn’t play the first year of wrath

He seems to think the balancing is what is making it easy. Idk if he knows what “balance”means.

Man can you imagine how easy this content would be with the OG DKs in the game? Lol

23 DK’s and two holy paladins would be the raid comp for 25man anything.

You’re the only consistent voice against LK. I know there are others, but, most seem to enjoy wrath or are indifferent. It appears to be a small minority that actively does not like it as a whole.

This whole assumption is flawed.

and you can’t even describe how or why?

by what % stronger are classes compared to first patch?how much slower would have nax been if that was the case?

I would have to say that nax would have been even easier with the first patch. at least for some people.

In what way?

I’m not going to go deep into it, I see the posts and am reporting back info. If you even look at balance changes there were very few classes that were strong in the first patch, the ones that were strong were way too strong like DK making the rest irrelevant. 3.5 is what balanced it out for all classes and specs and made things more viable, naturally one can assume 3.5 made P1 more faceroll than being on the first patch.

Had blizzard just released wrath with a stable launch and without actively making negative changes no it wouldn’t have been overhyped.

The excessive amount of bugs and the changes blizzard crammed into it definitely damage the experience.

Yeah fully agreed here, they made far too many changes that isn’t going over well.

AKA “I’m talking out my back end about things I don’t really know” lol.
