So far in the past month I’ve met up with 2 horde players who I tried grouping with who were doing hardcore runs. That said, it kinda sounds fun. Some do 3 deaths then delete, some every 10 levels an extra life, etc…your own rules for the most part.
I was thinking about doing a Priest. Clothy spunge but can heal. Go full Holy for limited damage, and give myself 3 lives 1-20 with an extra 20-30,30-40,etc.
A death limit isn’t logical in a MMO where you can get killed by other people or internet issues beyond your control. I have seen people level with only gray gear or no talent points, and that was in classic, not with any future class buffs.
I’ve watched people do it they they can have fun with that like I don’t understand the appeal if I’m being honest but it is a very different way to play the game.
Not my thing but you know if people enjoy it more power to them
There used to be an ironman challenge, reach max level with only grey/white gear. No grouping with others, bgs, dungeons ect. You can only get xp from mobs and quests. You die you start over from level 1.
If I ever stop raiding I might try that challenge.
I watched a couple vods from karzog (sp?) who has done a ton of hardcore runs and while it’s probably not something I’d ever take the time to do personally, it’s pretty interesting to watch, particularly at the higher levels. Brd is a lot higher stakes when any member of the party dying means they lose their entire progress. I personally could never stick to it, but it is entertaining to watch.
I believe whatever server he plays on has a pretty involved hardcore community as well. Which would be pretty important since a lot of them also run with extra rules similar to POE (no AH, and you can only trade with other hardcore players)
