For me personally it is that bad. I HATE the Horde aesthetic. I hate their cities and zones with a passion. A good analogy for how I feel about it would be the idea of chewing on glass.

As hungry as I am to play with my friends I’m not willing to chew on glass to do so and luckily most of them get that. They told me "what’s the point of swapping to Horde to play with us if doing so is going to make you not want to login you would just wind up quitting the game". Let’s face it they are probably right

You still could make new characters. Never understood the “swapping” thing. Just make new characters and play them when you’re in the mood for it. You have 50 slots, use them.

Are you literally ignoring everything I said? For some reason you’re not actually reading/understanding what I’m saying. It has nothing to do with the cost of swapping it could even be free. It would make no difference. Please actually read what I’m saying

It’s about the looks, yes, I know. I had to get used to them too.

Me.

I have several Horde characters I am playing at whim to see the story on their side and they have grown on me to the point that I can appreciate their aesthetics and cities and cultures but, outside of my goblin shadow priestess, I can’t immerse myself in them the way I do to my Alliance characters, their personal development doesn’t come as easy and their stories don’t flow as smoothly.

Too often they just aren’t likeable.

I love Alliance races and cities and wish my Horde characters could have a nice city. With Orgrimmar being the Horde’s main city and portal hub, I always go back to my Alliance characters because of the pretty cities. : P

I do have a few Belves though and go back to check on them from time to time but haven’t in a while. I used to be a decent tank too on my Belf. Ah well. Maybe I’ll start an Alliance tank soon.

This reminds me of my oldest relative who doesn’t play with us anymore. They were on a RP-server and made a hilarious goblin priestess who sells their healing services for gold while being awful at healing. We other four relatives played her goblin henchmen who mobbed people if they didn’t pay up. It was one of the most funny times I had on a RP-server.

Wish they would still play the game.

Needing to get used to something and hating it are two different things there’s something some people can never get used to my friend because they just don’t like it.

Let me restore s the word miserable I was miserable on horde when I faction changed my characters on the ptr. Miserable in a there is no getting use to this way

I’ve mained both factions at some point or another. I started out Horde from Vanilla through MoP. I had a very brief stint in Cata as main Alliance because of a Friend, but very quickly went Horde again.

WoD I was fully main Alliance with a friend again, but quit the expansion because it was bad. Mained Alliance and got CE in Legion for the first raid tier then quit WoW again because I hated the expansion and the RNG behind our legendaries (I got all my worst legos out the gate and then went all patch w/ out a single BIS or even close item despite massive grinding). I then came back to BFA and was still Alliance. However, I rolled a fresh Priest on Horde and for some reason I really liked the random name it generated (Ithost, current main) and went full BELF horde starting from scratch and abandoning Alliance once and for all. At this point the switch was easy because Alliance was already in a steep decline in the competitive play side. I’ve been all Horde since with all my old Alliance toons collecting dust. Recently I’ve tried to play my old main Priest still on Alliance. I got it max level and cleared LFR. Did some keys and I’m actually astounded at how bad almost every Alliance player I have met was. Like there is no care in the world, no pride, nothing. They are almost all new players or people who simply don’t care about performance. It’s been hell trying to get back into the Alliance so I’ve been spending less and less time caring about gearing my Priest.

This response literally made me laugh It’s the funniest analogy I’ve seen

Different strokes for different folks.

If you had a real friend they would play with you still regardless of faction - my two copper.

I Like both Alliance and Horde.

I can agree Alliance is more ascetically pleasing to the eye.

Yea, the cheap spiked mud huts are kind of stupid. But at the end of the day WoW is a game and it’s really hard to play the game on Alliance. Aesthetics and all that come second to me.

After I log off my horde character I feel a strong urge to bath.

Well in this situation I’m the bad one because we all made the decision to go horde a few months ago however I just couldn’t do it. I thought I could force myself to find something on the Horde that I liked and I was wrong I just couldn’t do it and luckily my friends get that.

Like I said in my original post I’ve tried for the past 2 months to force myself and I just can’t do it

You should do what is best for you. It would sting for me if not one friend still kept an ally to play with me though. Have any of your friends asked if you’re ok playing alone? I know playing alone isn’t for many - especially if you want to progress.

I can’t see the Blood Elves and Nightborn just hanging out in org forever… they would have built a beautiful new city or enclave in Org ( at least) together.

If the next X pack would focus on Azeroth- it would be great to see the art team do some beautiful new cities and areas in some of the cata-ruined-areas.
