Anyone else a Horrific Visions noob?

How’s it going? Do you find yourself making progress? The 1st mask is probably in the middle distance for me. I got Incremental Progress achiev done tonight after too many hours.

Any other HV noobs out there?

Honestly, this seems to be tuned for folks who have a lot higher Ilvl than my 640 or so. After three runs, averaging around 75 of that currency, it’s starting to look like a long and boring grind even to get tho the first boss.

It’s already looking like not worth it.

Got all 5 objectives , can only do 3 with 1 mask at the moment.

Probably will get better at it with practice and upgrades.

To be fair, and this is not meant to be any slight against you personally. Everyone travels down the path at their own rate.

But 640 is considered on the lower end for many people. I would focus on other avenues for quicker gear ups first.

Delves along can push ya a bit higher.

Focus on getting the +sanity tribute filled up, and get familiar with the sanity potions that spawn in the HV if ya havent.

I keep on forgetting those! Thanks for the tip Akston, hoping to unlock the second one :ok_hand:.

Even if you just grind lower. Getting +150 sanity from each elite stacks up fast. Throw in the +100 sanity pots and its a lot of sanity over the course of the run.

Then there’s me, returning player inly recently back since Legion and thanks to the Timewalking & Winds of Fortune, got to 80 (and main alts to 71) at ilvl 557 and going at the Horrific Visions a bit xD. I can just manage two side objectives or a side objective and main Boss

I don’t get sanity back yet from them.

My tree says ‘week 2’ all over the next ones.

The tribute things fill up outside of the talent tree. When you first zone in, there are like 4 tribute piles with a bar that is filling up.

You see them spread around in the circle with the mask statues.

See the 4 spots with yellow bars filling up?

Each one is filled up in a different way, and gives a different bonus. One of them gives a bonus sanity for killing elites. Level 1 is +50, level 2 is +100, level 3 is +150. Its independent of the talent tree.

And you can spam it to max now, no timegate.

You’re amazing! Sorry I wasn’t aware of that. Gonna spam these asap

I have zero interest in horrific visions just like I have zero interest in raiding, pvp, or mythic dungeons. And as a result, I have zero interest in grinding to the point where I can start grinding any of that garbage.

Thanks, but I think I’m going to chalk this up to more “solo friendly” content that isn’t solo friendly to solo players who have open world gear.

wasnt interested in visions first time around and am not interested this time round either , more recycled trash from blizz.

I’m a noob. I don’t understand how to do horrific visions at all. I don’t know how to progress on these. I’m going to see if there’s a walk-through vid on youtube. I just don’t know what to do or why.

I kinda have no idea what’s going on. I seem to be stuck in a loop farming the same 15 mobs and killing Alleria over and over.

Same! I have no idea either.

While I can certainly understand that there are people with legitimate FOMO for this (owing to this being a limited time event), it’s worth noting that it’s litterally day one for this and as such we’re locked behind the dreaded timegate of progress.

As such, I fully expect this to get easier as time goes on and we can fill in more and more of the upgrade tree thing.

That having been said: everytime you run this this week you will get stronger; the more stuff you loot the more stuff you can find to loot, the more trash mobs you kill the more haste and movement speed you will stack for the purposes of earning loot, the more elites you kill the more they’ll refund and the more bosses you kill the more overall damage you will do.

Lastly, I’m going to point out that in stormwind there is a bonus you can get in the cathedral district that will be either a 10% haste bonus or a 7% versatility bonus inside of one of the two houses. Hope this helps

Instead of timegated minigames we need consistent immersive overworld.

Why are they not advancing the story in a satisfactory manner?

So, there are a few reasons to do this.

From a collector standpoint, there are a bunch of mogs, mounts and pets that you can get from either the content itself or from the vendor, and this isn’t likely to come back around.

From a power standpoint, there are two things that this content has going for it: the ability to get warbound gear for alts (that scale all the way up to heroic) and also a head enchantment that will give you a little more power.

Also, the first few runs just clearing the cathedral courtyard is honestly fine; you’ll get bonuses from just doing the content (IE picking up potions, killing mobs, killing Alleria) and mementos you can turn in for bonuses.

As you get more power and/or confidence you can start pushing into other disticts and doing them for more and greater rewards.

Hope this helps
