You get your first mask after you’re able to down all of the district bosses and finally alleria. This is… tricky even when you’re well geared since sanity plays a big and annoying handicap for you as it is perpetually ticking down.
That having been said: you can mount up to get around more quickly.
huge help. i was tryna’ figure out how to complete all objectives but i don’t have any of those yellow prog bars filled. plus, I may simply be bad at these. that’s entirely within the realm of possibility.
Unlock one of the other masks and switch to that one instead. The first mask you unlock is the worst of them all.
What the sad part is the tank npc i have for vision is way better then brann is.
The tank npc sucks, makes things harder.
I missed the tail end of BfA, this is all new to me. How it works exactly seems a bit…cryptic? I had to watch a few videos to understand what exactly was expected of me since they drop you right off next to Alleria.
It’s fun, though. More solo friendly content.
I aced the hell out of the original HVs, knew them inside out and could easily carry someone else through 5-masks.
Still took numerous runs to build up to a full clear, and a few more to do a mask + full clear. They just take time and repetition, learning where you can blast a whole room at once and where to be careful.
They do take gear too, if you can’t do high delves then visions are gonna be rough.
Yeah, first time around, I might have used it to unlock others, but then left it alone unless going for that 5 mask run. This is from one who did the 5 mask solo achievement, solo cause pugging these can be a nightmare, and not always able to do it with friends or guildmates.
i played healer back in bfa so i never got to experiencing dpsing it. i love it so far. i’m stuck 4masking right now, i THINK the best i could probably do is like both minor sections and then old town, but so far the best i’ve gotten is either minor and old town. both the boss fights in the major sections, old town or mage quarter, are absolutely brutal and are keeping me from being able to full clear. i just can’t kill them fast enough without taking some major sanity drain and i just don’t have the mobility to play around it on priest. but i’m loving it so far, it’s challenging and a lot of fun!
I can’t imagine downing all four bosses and Alleria to earn that first mask with the amount of sanity I have ticking down, at least not on my mage. I may have my prot pally do a few run throughs, or see which alt is the fastest.
In the other thread they say don’t take Soridormi as it increases enemies health. Don’t know haven’t tried a run without her.
Will also be checking if any of those runed enchants help with the run. I got the stars helm enchant on my mage, but it seems the vendor unlocked all of them for my warband.
Looks like HV is my ‘Wow project’ this week. 
Does anyone remember the addon that tells you which potions are good and which are bad?
I’m a noob with it in a sense that I only did it like 2-3 times before and did not enjoy it so never did it again. I’m going to try again and see if I feel better about it, because I want some of those mounts, if not, I’m not going to worry about it and just go back to doing the other things I DO enjoy. We’ll see…
I never did the horrific visions in bfa so I was pretty excited to jump in yesterday. I started out slowly, just completing one challenge at a time, then two. Eventually getting all of them down to get the first mask. That’s about how far I got! Seems like others are just blowing these things out of the park around me LOL. One person already got like 5 of the mounts you can get from it. I haven’t seen one yet.
The one good thing is you earn a lot of Displaced Corrupted Mementos for just killing mobs and whatever elites you can. I already have almost 5000 and with cosmetics unlocked should be achievable to get that purple mount by next week if really wanted to.
Okay, can currently do 4 bosses with 3 masks, might be able to get all objectives though.
Will try a 4 mask this week and see what results I can pull but I definitely don’t see myself getting all objectives with that many masks active atm.
so in stormwind, right when you hit the end of the walkway you’re spawned on, there’s a dead guy with a note and a potion next to him, whatever color that potion is, is the potion that will drain your sanity, all others are safe
I don’t think I’m even going to do this. I already did Horrific Visions in BFA and had fun in that. Blizzard really scraping the bottom of the barrel with this patch
Unlocking mask of multitudes is frustrating.
i came back during bfa and had some traumatic defeat from back then
i feel forced doing it to strenghten warbands ilevel unlike doing delves. i would pick one main to do HV
