Anybody remember when

It really is that simple. Probably the easiest solution to appease the greatest amount of people in the history of WoW.

Oh man anybody remember the time that arms warrior queued as a prot warrior for the instant queue and then switched back to arms after getting in the instance? Then you got 4 dps and somebody had to leave so you could get a new tank?

Lol that was awesome times.

Or how about the time you got into a group with that one tank and they would pull the entire instance just to wipe the group and then quit after? Top 10 greatest moments in wow.

What about that time when you died on the last boss but the rest of the group managed to finish it… and they all just left with you dead on the floor.

Amazing community amirite?

I would rather queue as a DPS and wait an hour and a half for a dungeon than spend that same amount of time or more except every 5-15 seconds I have to spam the /LookingforGroup channel. At least with the queue it’s passive and I can just work on quests or chill without having to micromanage 4 people none of whom will effing GO TO THE SUMMONING STONE.

/who class level range. “hey would you like to [role] [dungeon]?”

Yes, I experienced all of this back then. I still want LFD. I want to play WotLK the way it was, warts and all.

I remember all of this.

It feels like most players think LFD means you click a button, instant dungeon pop, 20 minutes late and you’re done with half a level of xp and some nice blue gear.

Do you remember the time you answered a LFG post saying you would go and when the group noticed you were in Kalimdor and would have to travel to Eastern Kingdoms to get to the dungeon they removed you from the group? Good times

Do you remember the times when you had to have a gearscore higher than the gear the dungeon itself gave out in order to be invited to groups?

Do you remember the time you were on an alt going through vanilla 1-60 and the only groups being advertised were boosts?

Do you remember you waited an hour for the group to fill, helping the group leader spam in LFG chat for more players to join your group, only for that same group leader to ninja loot and hearth out?

The entire basis of your post is dumb.

No. we know its not this way. even us retail scrubs…know how bad lfd can get lol. I can share many horror stories of necrotic wake. I can tell sad but true stories of how my kitty druid b-rezzed the actual healer 3 times in the same dungeon run. I Needed that for my 60 closer…I should have just gone and picked like 20 flowers for xp. But I stayed.

Its still wanted. A hell run of dungeon x with a bunch of terribads is still better than no run at all.

Why do people always assume no adults played WoW back then???

That’s the way I feel about it.

Run with a great dps and want to add them to the friends list so you can call them up on another day? Nope, they’re on another server. Worry about being a derp? Nope, your party is from different servers and will never see you again, feel free to herp at your leisure.

Keep it server restricted now reputation still matters and new friends can be made.

why would this be any different spamming LFG for a group?

no I don’t really recall this, perhaps in later expacs when the daily reward was tied to queueing for a random dungeon. But in wrath the daily dungeon quests are just that, they’re quests given in dalaran (1 heroic and 1 normal) which you’d then specific queue for.

Never happened to me personally, but again, what would stop a tank from LFG doing this if they so wished?

that has literally happened to me multiple times in Vanilla and TBC, which by the way didn’t have dungeon finder?

This has happened to me from time to time when I wasn’t running with guildies… again, no dungeon finder to be seen?

If you play on Benediction or Faerlina or another mega server, like probably 90% of players do, dungeon finder will basically be indistinguishable from non-cross-realm?

Of your list this is the only thing that ever happened to me. But it was more often the dps that left if it was Occulus than the tank.

I also remember when EVERY SINGLE THING U LISTED IS ALREADY HAPPENING.

People aren’t asking to skip the grind. There asking to be able to do the grind both in the world and in dungeons instead of staring at the lfg chat channel to find a group to actually do the grind.

That never happened to me.

That never happened to me either. You’ve been very unlucky or you’re lying.

That’s happened to me occasionally in vanilla and every expansion after that. It happened more often in vanilla when there were no horde pally tanks and I was often the only resser in the group.

That “cigarettes killed my father” clip from Family Guy feels kind of appropriate at this point.

I had to look that up on youtube. I get why you didn’t use the whole quote here.

Heh.

Apparently dungeon finder is the root cause of everything that ever went wrong in the game.

I think this post is a little ridiculous as you’re acting like you’re being forced to use it. You can still party up with friends and run dungeons without RDF creating groups for you.
