The cloth classes don’t do it for me. My first main was a shadow priest and I loved playing him, but these days? I don’t know. I can’t do it.
The only sort of exception is a Darkspear affliction warlock alt I made specifically to use with Grimoire of Sacrifice and headcanon that he’s tossing out hexes and loa-based-awesomeness.
If you haven’t tried it yet, you can quickly level one up in Remix. Its a lot of fun with the crazy gems and such. You can even park it at 70 and not worry about anything else until the character rolls over to your regular roster.
Many classes do not spark joy for me. So it is a constant endeavor to find the ones that do enough for me to main them in a game that’s always changing.
I didn’t get as much mileage out of evoker as i wanted to, which was disappointing. I got into the beta and neither hero spec was very much fun for me at the end of the day. So i was agonizing over whether to go back to DH or not, which was okay, but kind of boring anymore.
Thankfully i have decided upon ret paladin going into TWW. Which is funny because it didn’t spark joy until i played around with the hero specs in the beta, and had the most fun i’ve had in this game since legion (when DH came out). It’s also made me retroactively enjoy live paladin more.
With ret i can have the best of both havoc and devastation (except for mobility). Kind of mid-range like evoker. Simple, but fun rotation like DH. And the ability to heal and tank (i’ll never tank).
Can’t stand priest, no interest in healing and the DPS of Shadow is borrrring and I feel like I hit things like a wet noodle.
Also not huge into druid, shaman or paladin really.
Love monks, hunters, warriors, rogues and mages.
Everything else is middle of the road for me, have a few, don’t love or hate them.
Rogue and DK for me. I just really struggle to get into how they play and the fantasy they’re trying to fulfill. They’re usually the last class I level, if at all, during an expansion.
I haven’t touched Monk since WOD, so I don’t have an opinion on them yet.
DH is kind of… meh… so far.
Shaman, Druid, and Evoker have been my mains this expac and man… I’m really disappointed with Shaman. I love the fantasy of being the only class in the game that shoots lightning bolts but… it’s just not a fun class to play.
It’s rogue and mage for me. I try playing them for a little while, but they get old fast and I move on to something more fun to me. DH is starting to feel that way, with all the little maintenance buffs they’ve added.
My first main in TBC was a combat rogue, loved that class back then. Ive tried playing it since, but cant figure it out no matter how much I try.
The most fun I have in this game now is a prot pally. There’s nothing better than bouncing spinning shields off mobs.
