This is a long shot I’m sure, but would it be possible to get some Dream wardens reputation items from quests restored through a ticket? For some reason, in Amirdrassil, the outdoor version the 50% rep buff for Dream wardens we currently have isn’t active. But that’s where the last quest in the 10.2 campaign ends. I finished the quest, and immediately used the rep token it gave, thinking the rep buff was active. It’s active in the reat of the Dragon Isles.
I also used some Side Quest reputation items in org where the rep buff wasn’t active. I didn’t realize it till I used two of them.
I detailed the issue, but then it kept sending me to the page of “Restoring Sent, expired, or deleted mail” or w/e. and it wouldn’t load.
Edit: I had to jump through hoops to be able to send in a ticket. By the time I get a response, the rep buff will be long gone. Also, how on Earth would they be able to remove some of my rep, and then give me the items, some of which I don’t remember, so I could use them again? There’s no way this will work.
From this description, you recieved the quest items you were supposed to get. Those were rep tokens for Dream Wardens.
You then used those items and they worked as intended, to grant the amount of rep they were supposed grant. You wish you had used them during a buff period instead of when the buff was not active so want to get then back, so you can use them again to get more rep when used.
I don’t think that is something they can help you with. Everything was working as intended with the game. Further, those tokens stack if they are of the same type right?
GMs can’t restore anything that stacks, or anything that is not in the Restore menu that you have access to. They have the same tools we do pretty much.
No, the buff period is active right now, which is when I got the rep tokens and used them. It’s just that the buff only appears when you’re on the Dragon Isles, but not in Amirdrassil (the outdoor version, where the last main 10.2 quest that gives you a rep token takes place. This is different from every other rep buff I know of, including the Timewalking reputation buffs. And the fact that it doesn’t show up in one specific area of the Dragon Isles is unintuitive as well.
Good point on the design of it. That does seem like the Devs could have handled that better.
I don’t think the CS staff can do anything about it though. Even if it was a bug they are not allowed to individually fix that for most issues, unless the Devs give them permission.
I also don’t think there are any grounds CS can use to restore your tokens. You can ask of course, but I don’t think this is going to be one they can assist with.
Once upon a time, they only had in-game support for WoW. They also did not have the tools to perform many things outside the game, nor did the self help tools we have now exist.
As awesome as the experience of talking to a GM is, it takes a lot longer to do than to just use the tools to perform the service the person needs. Rarely was an actual conversation needed to accomplish the task. Chatting meant each customer took longer and fewer could be helped. Lines just got longer and longer.
Blizz released even more games, those have billing and account support needs too, on top of WoW. The very limited real time contact is now through Live Chat when it is open, and only for certain Billing and Account issues.
It was great, but last time I got to talk to someone in real time was Warlords.
That said, THIS forum is a great place to get nearly real time help from fellow players and Blues. It is a great Information Desk to help folks through the Support system, explain policies, explain services etc. Prevents people from wasting time on the ticket system going in circles. It also has the benefit of feeling a lot more like a “live” or personal contact.
Thanks, Mirasol. Forgot myself for a bit, there. I am still amazed at the number of problems you folks handle on a daily basis. And you’re right, of course – it does feel good to have someone there “with” you. And just to reiterate - y’all do fantastic work.
To conclude, I hope everyone gets the result desired.
