Far more hate in the hunter forums go towards BM then survival though, calling people who play it brain dead or beginners. That being said, some miss that DoT spec that old ranged survival offered over stand in place turret shooter that MM is

exactly. however we are not asking blizzard to remove it from the 3 people that legit like it and the 50 others that play it because its buffed to fotm. a melee spec has no place in the hunter class case in point. if most hunters enjoyed a melee spec we would of never rolled hunter and would of rolled a real melee class. but why the annoyance is because the best spec in game was deleted for a spec that has no place in the class forcing the rest of us to either quit the game or play 1 of the other 2 clunking unpowered specs. see why this meat stinks.

I hope you realize how ridiculous this argument is, bordering on, “no one asked for change, so why should we respect change?” the world changes, from slavery to freedom, from women’s rights, to the civil rights movement, all based on change and the idea that humans evolve. Sure, this is a video game, but you dedicated “RSV” movement personnel act out to the current SV folks as if it is their fault that YOUR spec was taken away.
SV players enjoy the spec for what it is, or what it may become. That is not their fault. I understand your loss, but it was Blizzard’s fault, not SV players. Perhaps you should focus your attention elsewhere instead of consistently derailing every SV post in the forums.

I wasn’t comparing a wow hunter spec to slavery, I was comparing Change and the different forms change has taken. if you can’t understand that, I don’t know what to tell you.

By " 2 clunking unpowered specs", you are referring to Marksman and Beastmaster Hunters? Ouch. Hurts to have my spec referred to so dismissively.
I play MM, and I wouldn’t say the spec is “unpowered”, but “clunking”… it has its flaws. And for years now, those flaws have been unaddressed.
I said you referred to my spec dismissively? Wrong word. Disparagingly is better. Dismissive is how Blizz treats the spec. No time for it, too busy primping MSV.
Makes for a bitter taste, all the more so, suspecting it’s not a competency thing but deliberate.

People probably expect rdps when they invite a hunter. The LFG thing should just let people list what classes/specs they want and only show those groups to people of those specs.

Ranged is nice but so boring so why play ranged?
Survival is stigmatized because, in my opinion, some people of the hunter community thought they could muscle their way to get Blizzard to revert Survival to a ranged spec. Since then, even though its a perfectly viable spec, it gets hated on for no good reason.

That’s not it. Keep it, revert it back to RSV, add a 4th spec, it wouldn’t matter. Those “some people of the hunter community” you mention would still look upon it with disdain, if not contempt.
Stigmatized? Branded as inferior, discredited, denounced, yes.
Only one of the three is really directed towards the actual spec.
The other two is posters getting jerked up on B.S. untrue claims.
Having your specs shortcomings revealed or your posts labeled incorrect is surely annoying to some, idano why.
Until Bepples and Toxi show up this is still not a real “SV” thread.

Survival was redesigned as melee to entice those that play melee to try the class out .
Even Ion in a Q&A admitted it is a niche spec not really meant for those that play hunters.

No it’s not … From Cata -WoD 6.2 it was one of the most played specs in the game
THey changed it so it could have it’s own special weapon for Legion .

it baffles me that they completely redesigned an entire spec essentially from the ground up when dhs literally only have 2 specs and hunters already had an extremely dedicated survival playerbase

Everyone sees things different, and that’s fine. Demon Hunters were designed with two specs, hunter was not. So to me, this isn’t a great thing to bring up? Like why does it even matter to whether SV was redesigned or not.
Agreed, which is why I’m perfectly happy to support RSV returning, in a thread made for that purpose. Not a thread a random person makes about their love for SV, that gets derailed by a certain few.
