Any reason HKs aren't just the same for everyone in small-scale battlegrounds at least?

Genuinely growing tired of always having to be one of these people that just serves as a glorified scarecrow while a group of 5-8 players (sometimes more) just runs around searching and destroying enemy players.

Just had another one of these in Deepwind Gorge, Horde had - at least in theory - no chance (100 HKs on Alliance vs. 10 on Horde), still we only won by 50 points because we had like 7-8 just running around the battleground completely ignoring the flags.

If we end up winning, they get the victory and bonus honor from winning as well the HKs. As a defender, you lose out on HKs and the only thing you get is some bonus honor from honorable defender if you managed to kill someone when you got blitzed. The buff was already archaic and pretty much an insult over a decade ago.

There is literally zero incentive to use your brain and actually try to win a battleground. Just make it the same for everyone or give more and better rewards for those actually playing the objective.

That’s not a bad concept. There is a massive problem of roadwarriors in the node BGs.

This is a good idea, they should do this IMO.

But I also don’t think this will fix the “road warrior” problem in random BGs. I’d argue the vast majority of people fighting on roads aren’t doing it for the honor gain, hell once you’ve got your honor set which takes about 5 minutes there isn’t even any use for it, they are simply doing it because they want to fight. In random BGs people just want to run around and kill stuff, it’s that simple.

The trick OP is to not be the last one at the node. That way no one can blame you and you get to go have fun. I like to treat Random BGs like team death match. Objectives are just a bonus.

The system, and achievements encourage cap & run, and punishes defenders. It sucks.

Hks just happen naturally over time, same as honor levels

I wouldn’t care either way if they did make honorable kills map-wide, but in the event they don’t i don’t believe it’s an issue nor is it necessary to “grind” hks and honor levels

If less players are holding up a larger amount of enemy players at their graveyard and the rest of the team is struggling to win objectives while having a man advantage on the map, the objective players need to reflect

Now if the ones holding back enemy players are failing at that or not keeping any meaningful amount of enemies from playing the map then they suck and its unfortunate to have them on your team for sure

Pretty much this lol. Sometimes i’ll base sit if i evaluate that we have decent enough healers to not need me in the teamfight or if us wiping on teamfights is worth the extra points from guaranteeing a few minutes more of base points, but otherwise i’ll just leave it if i’m needed elsewhere

Swtor does this and it’s a great feeling to see the end board and you’re at top for sitting on defense all game with 15 defense medals that get bigger for each consecutive one awarded for defending. which can be afking a base tbf, but the point is you don’t miss out on time_spent_currency_reward for playing objective

If you plant the bomb in swtors strand, everyone can see that you’ve been playing objective. If you do well as a tank, everyone can see that your mitigation (calculated damage that you’ve mitigated teammates from taking) is high. If you put your head down and just did big dam killing all the enemy players, that shows too. And you’re awarded for it. They’re all valuable.

solo queue rbgs will fix this problem duh

As long as the other team has more players at the fight, its a fight worth having in a bg.

Sometimes you gotta fight to thin the enemy’s constipation.
At times when guard a node, and hear alliance has taken one, I feel guilty for not being part of the team fight in which the tide could’ve turned.

Speaking of honour kills, I remember I was being told off by “stealing” someone else’s kill.

That was long ago, and with this shared honour kills, I didn’t know it would still affect players at this day and age.

If I was being attacked and someone from my team gets the finishing kill, I would be very happy.
