I’d venture to say that Blizzard is more hidden in its upcoming changes than not if we include the high number of balancing class changes that just come out of nowhere. Transmogrification didn’t even get an announcement in advance, we just got a patch post-Dragon Soul that added it in and that’s that, with a vague reference to “player requests” without pointing to anything in particular.
In some office in some corner of Blizzard HQ is a corkboard or whiteboard filled with ideas, tweaks, additions, and changes for Classic that would all be implemented if time/money/devs were infinite.
Yup, but it does depend on how Blizzard sees dual spec in terms of what layer it lands on in the scope of it’s impact.
For example, they also added shared lock outs between normal/heroic toggled raids in ToC, fixing the need to run the raid 4 times a week for optimal gearing.
If they see this as a pure quality of life update that is akin to any talent tree changes mid-expansion that we will most certainly have right out of the gate…then we would have that shared lockout from the beginning of Wrath.
Would that be authentic to the WOTLK experience though? Even it was…is it something that anybody wants? Also worth considering.
So how they look at dual spec might impact when it’s added in the same way (which is to say, I could potentially see it being added earlier, just like the shared lockout).
This is where all the clamoring for dual specs might actually pay off and get them early access but Im thinking that was a forgone conclusion anyway. Seeing how Blizz has handled things (final patch builds) Id be surprised if dual spec wasn’t in at launch. Content comes in phases but specialization overhauls? Seems like something they’d just get out of the way early.
It’s not really breaking the authenticity barrier either - or at least not to a point to stress about it. The timing wouldnt be authentic but dual specs are still a Wrath feature so I dont see much harm there. Dont think Blizz would either.
ToC was the only raid you could do that. Every other raid shared lock outs between heroic/.normal including ICC and RS which came after TOC. So that would consistent with how it worked both at the beginning and end of wrath, ToC was the anomaly.
And given that blizzard has typically been going with the final patch of the expansion in classic I would expect most of the features available then to be available at launch. I also expect them to ignore the #nochanges crowd even more as listening to them has consistently proven to be bad.
While I find this topic anachronistic in the current phase of the game, this is a decent point. Not all changes move toward greater player convenience and ease.
The people pushing hard for Dual Spec seem to believe there is a one to one relationship between player convenience and game improvement - given that this forms the basis of the justification for the change (with little else to justify it). Thus they assert that people opposed to attempts to increase player ease as “#nochagers”.
But, in reality blizzard have shown many times throughout Classic that they do not link all game improvements with ease and convenience of content. There are many changes to the original that make things less convenient or harder for players. Clearly Blizzard sees these as “improvements” on the original else they wouldn’t have made the change.
To reiterate, I barely think it matters at this phase if they do choose to add dual spec or not (and there’s been zero indication from Blizzard that they’re considering it). There’s literally one layer of TBC content left to deliver. We’re basically in the ramp up to WoTLK phase now. The discussion is thus pretty moot at this point.
I’d imagine Blizzards main aim with the delivery of such a feature at this stage would be to promote WOTLK classic. So, their focus and timing would be commercially driven. Thus, I could see them maybe dropping it around the tail end of Sunwell, at the earliest.
Debating for or against its merits now seems pretty pointless - I guess it’s something to talk about …
And TBC classic. The Arena changes didn’t increase convenience and ease for instance. It’s pretty clear that TBC changes have not all been geared toward increased convenience and ease. Some have, some have not.
Again you’re absolutely clueless. I never added my voice to those asking for the end of attunements, or for attunements to be made account wide, or to get heroic keys at honored. I’m against all those changes. You’re just not capable of responding to our actual arguments for dual spec so you make up a strawman to argue against. So again here we are, wondering if you totally misunderstood all our arguments or are you making up lies. I wouldn’t call you a liar if you admitted your reading comprehension is poor.
Why do you feel the need to start any discussion with a complete put down of the other person? Also the amount of narcissism required to view the comment you quoted as aimed at you specifically is … concerning. I may or may not be clueless but you are classless sir.
Again - I couldn’t care less if they added Dual Spec or not at this stage. So, carry on. I was simply making an observation about game changes and the expectation that changes should make things more convenient when in fact many do not.
Most people have no idea what the arena changes were geared towards other than not letting people afk for gear. Which seems to have back fired badly given how bad arena participation is.
I dont take the opinions of allchangers seriously. Id recommend no one else did either.
Its been over since the very first thread. We’re just slow learners. They wanted to dance though and I just cant pass up the invitation. Lol@me I guess.
No doubt. Theyve got boosts and clones and special editions to sell. Its a win/win.
Its a case study on why MMOs suck in the modern day and how the glory days are gone and will never be seen again.
It’s a factual observation based on the thousands of toxic posts made by roughly 4 posters that only present qol and convenience as a reason for implementing a feature of a future expansion.
Diversionary tactic. You insult us, you’re called out on it, you have no response to the legitimate criticism, so you change the subject, again in a mocking way, to avoid it.
The fact is most of those who are against dual spec have defended every Qol change made to the game so far and I didn’t support any of them. Your premise is wrong.
We have called the people opposed to dual spec to have made mostly no change arguments against dual spec. They are not opposed to attempts to increase player ease across the board as they mostly support the other qol changes made so far. Nor have we supported every qol change made or suggested. You’re simply wrong or lying but you’ll never discuss it. It’s all about you finding a backhanded passive aggressive way to insult us. An insult that will pass the tos.
I also didn’t support the pally seal change or the drum nerf while most of those against adding dual spec did. You’re just not capable of having a rational dialog with anyone.
