There is only 1 viable rationale for why they chose not to add dual spec.
…and it ain’t cus they want to keep reading these threads.

Somehow I doubt they even read these threads. I mean, you two have been arguing about this for weeks, if not months.
If they do read these threads, it’s probably while eating popcorn.
Oh look, a lot of reasons.
You literally just said this was a weak argument.
Pretty much the same argument as “takes too much time”.
Literally the same as the above two.
Lol…ok.
That’s basically authenticity.
Hahaha…sure Jan. You just said this was a bad argument…
I mean yeah when you give a list of “arguments” that are more or less all identical things worded differently, it’s easy to make it seem like you have a handful of arguments, isn’t it.
No I said players assuming it is a weak argument. If Blizz came right out and said “naw this is too much time” then I can’t really argue that since I have to minimally trust that Blizzard knows its own time tables.
Not at all. Being a lower priority doesn’t mean it takes too much time, but rather that it takes a non-trivial amount of time and other non-trivial time tasks take precedence.
Literally not at all, holy crap. If the issue isn’t important to them, then time isn’t even a factor, it just doesn’t get listed as a problem.
You can look at Ghostcrawler and Neth’s blog about Dual Spec in Wrath and how they fiddled with multiple methods to fold Dual Spec into the game. The same was done with Inscription, changing Glyphs, and even the thread you quoted about Battle Squawk showed internal disagreement on how to best move forward. Blizzard isn’t perfectly decisive.
Nope. Saving it for Wrath can mean “it doesn’t belong in TBCC”, “it is a key hook for Wrath”, or both.
If you can’t read… sure.
LOL. Saying a Classic server should be authentic is now considered gatekeeping?
You can’t make this stuff up.
Spend a few days in a back & forth with Fasc and you will be exposed to all manner of un-worldly rationality.
It’s both interesting and terrifying that people like him exist.
Says the person who plays a class that doesn’t need to respec for pvp/pve, on an alliance megaserver where groups are easy to find - one of the least impacted people playing the game suggesting that a feature isn’t important, when they have literally zero perspective on the subject.
You’re also someone who supports dual spec (UI/talent) profiles while maintaining a gold cost, though you don’t find them necessary you’re OK with them - as can be found in other posts by you conceding to my points.
You’re also someone who actively avoids evidence. Why are you even commenting?
You being allergic to basic evidence I suppose could be terrifying…
Interesting.
I respec all the time, though, for both PvP mucking around and to dabble in resto outside of raids. I just respecced 3 days ago actually.
Also, I wasn’t born on Atiesh. I literally transferred here because my prior server was dead.
My respec cost is at cap, and I had to make a choice to be on Atiesh. How does that = not being affected? I literally made personal choices to solve personal problems.
The fact you can somehow warp that in to me having less of a valid opinion on the inclusion of dual spec is honestly mindbending.
They don’t want to solve their own problems. They want the game to solve it for them.
I also transfered off a dead server from smolderweb to whitemane. And smolderweb was good, until the hysteria of “the realm is dead” started and one guild after another transfered off. The realm wasn’t even dead when the hysteria started. It just took the slowdown of finding groups in later phase 1 because people didn’t need heroics any more for the hysteria to start. The belief that the server was dead, is what caused it to die.
Of course there are other reasons. Anyone with half a brain could find more. One obvious reason is they could have decided it takes to much dev time to add it and therefore was too costly.
The only reason you say that is because you can’t come up with a rational reason not to add it. It’s just a way for you to avoid that discussion.
This. Some players don’t want to invest the time or effort. And they consider that a problem because…that’s what Retail has taught them over the years. Complain enough and Blizz will remove any inconvenience. We’ve seen what that’s done to the game, and especially the mentality of the player base. And they’ve now transferred that mentality to a version of the game where the devs wanted that investment of time and effort to matter.
And they’ve now transferred that mentality to a version of the game where the devs wanted that investment of time and effort to matter.
The funny part is that their argument to this, in large part, is always some version of: “It’s not even hard to respec, you fool! Money is easy! It’s just annoying to do!”
Well. Interesting. Could have fooled me with the abundant whining and argumentation from many that the gold cost is their sole deterrent and somehow the game is dying because they can’t afford to respec and tank someone’s Botanica run.
It’s clear that the cost being there with no dual spec is doing exactly what it’s supposed to do. The only difference here is these players believe they have a chance to change it. Blizzard gave them an inch and they’ve done everything in their power to take a mile.
Thankfully, on this particular feature, Blizzard hasn’t caved.
It’s actually even simpler than that. Some people simply want to complain. That’s it. The actual topic is irrelevant. If Dual Spec was implemented tomorrow these same people will be complaining about something else…as they’ve been doing since Classic was first announced. As these types of players have been doing for the past 17 years of WoW’s existence.
If Dual Spec was implemented tomorrow these same people will be complaining about something else
Nah, I don’t really care if Dual Spec happens or not, I just like to point out really horrible arguments and stupidity. People being intellectually dishonest and representing opinions as facts, while ignoring actual developer statements will get a post out of me with the intent of humiliating the offenders into disappearing.
Worked on the other threads just fine. Redheadchild disappeared, Zipzo devolved into ad hominems instead of actually defending their arguments and answering simple questions, some others abandoned ship as well when pressed.
The bottom line is - if they don’t want something, it’s not necessary. If someone else wants something, they think it ruins their fun when other people’s experience improves because theirs didn’t.
It’s quite fortunate for us realists because our perspective of ‘been changes, will be more’ has proven to be accurate throughout every single phase release. Every time a change happens, the gatekeepers of #nochanges become less relevant, and their shame grows.
there, and then after they move in they want to start changing the laws to be similar to where they are from.
Had some folks move up to Vermont, they loved the small farms, the inns etc. They get all settled in and realise that farms smell and ask for them to be moved.

The level of delusion you live with is impressive, but I think the real answer is most people have just accepted it’s not happening at this late stage of the game’s life and reasonably have concluded it’s not coming.
Spoilers: it’s not.
LF1M, Need tank, Botanica pst.

Sorry I can’t come because I’m in my dps spec I don’t want to respec for just one dungeon.
