IT COST CASH BECAUSE ITS CASH…jesus christ, you have to SWIPE your credit card in the crown shop to PURCHASE crafting shortcuts to BYPASS the timegate that a player who DOESN’T pay cash for will have to WAIT through.
That crafted armor refinement that they just paid cash for now gives them a COMPETITIVE EDGE over the person who did NOT pay cash and has to wait the MONTHS it takes to research some of these traits.
Nice strawman trying to compare mounts which have zero utility in this game to ARMOR which has a huge impact. This is the equivalent of someone able to pay cash in WoW to upgrade their mythic/raid gear. Yeah, no.
Lol they have a cd and are craftable so no you don’t have to pay cash you silly goose Did ZoS personally threaten your family or what lmao btw craftable armor can be purchased from other players so whats this about competitive advantage btw crafted sets also drop not just come from crafting, do you feel like a clown yet?
Btw upgrading gear in ESO is far less impactful than in WoW, I have only golded my weapons in the past 4 years, maybe this is why its such a big deal to you, you’re thinking in WoW terms but its not like that.
Btw WoW has the most carrying and cash/gold purchasing in the genre for upgrading gear and getting loot with 0 effort by paying people to do it for them. You won’t find any of that in ESO
I know you’re reading this so stay small, and stay mad. <3
Oh, for sure, its why I never really tried for high level PVP, I just enjoy bgs and some arenas here and there. I got to 2100 or so and it became boring beyond belief. It was all macros and who could CC someone the longest.
You can try FFXIV since it is one of the few very strong MMO out at the moment. Although since you are pvp focused it might not be your thing since pvp is weak in FFXIV at the moment as well. However it is good for everything else especially the stories and mmoRPG elements of it.
I played FF14 for a bit and it really is an impressive game for PVE. I am not into PVE but that is one game I would do, I only left for PVP here… But I never PVPed in FF14 because every time I queued up, it was a wait of 20+ minutes. Is that still a thing?
Haven’t bothered trying anything else because nothing has a similar visual flavor/vibe to WoW and that’s a dealbreaker for me. Really hate psuedorealistic graphics in MMOs, it almost always looks like trash after a few years.
Have occasionally watched a friend playing FFIV and the starting areas in that game have aged badly with muddy, generic looking textures and the higher poly count and more advanced shading do nothing to help it. I’m sure the newer expansion areas look nicer, but they’ll be subject to the same problem in a couple of years. The only way an MMO’s graphics can age gracefully is with a more toony/hand-painted art style.
Eh, depends on the game mode. Right now there’s an ongoing event for Rival Wings, it has INCREDIBLY short queue times during peak hours because it reliably gives the current event’s Tomestones. And rival wings is a neat concept in and of itself, probably far neater than anything I’ve seen WoW do- 24v24 with League-like tower/base defense, pilotable mechs, fluctuating zone control events, etc.
One of the things I enjoy about other MMOs - the world feels alive and full with players of all levels being in every city. Players aren’t just pushed to “main” or current expansion cities, while the others are left vacated until a holiday hits.
No more weeby, really, than World of giant-angry-righteously-indignant-demon-man-stabs-planet-with-sword-starting-global-war-that-was-really-just-meant-to-feed-the-armies-of-oversized-man-in-a-SiFi-BDSM-costume, but its PvP is pretty terrible, so if that’s a deciding factor for you, I’d probably avoid it.
I may have tried the Feast once or twice and I cannot really say I have any real opinion on it.
Frontlines remind me of the feeling I had in TBC era Alterac Valley only better because no matter how bad I do I get something out of it so there is literaelly 0 perfornamnce anxiety and a nonexistant level of salt.
I don’t think I gave FF PvP a shot till after they had the revamp of the skills so that combos were all one button
I enjoyed Feast a decent bit before the skill shrinkage, but just haven’t been able to get much into either one since, and really did not care for the PvEvP stuff like Raven Wing. Oddly enough, though though I loved appreciated some of the unique PvP skills, such as Samurai’s Chiten and Soten, to the point of wishing some version of them were in PvE as well.
That’s not to say WoW’s PvP is great, either, but I just feel there are way more moments of glory or satisfying coordination or outplay possible.
This is probably why I like FF XIV’s more because Moments of Glory or Co-ordination aren’t really things I look for or really even get any satisfaction from. I just like getting things out of the time I put in. And with WoW, If you lose, you get nothing (Good day sir)
This game will be a very good option for you if you have never played it and never made a character in it before or even if you did and you didn’t really level one? This game will keep you busy for hours on end for a short while. Basically once you hit max level there’s not much to do in the game in my opinion however there are several unique class stories. So I would recommend leveling one of every class to experience those class stories which should definitely keep you busy until 9.1
As this gentleman said once you get all the classes to max levels there’s just not much to do in the game. With that said getting all the classes to max level will take some time
