seems like it’s really popular too…saw an old blizz dev even playing it!
nobody mentioned Tera online but thats another failed MMO that was close to being cool at some point. (combat was kinda nice)
they took weird turns tho.

I just find it interesting you dislike everything that the game is lauded for.
I’m not much of a PvPer so take this with a grain of salt, but I played a ton of MMORPGs and to me there doesn’t appear to be any good alternative MMO for PvP right now.
If you don’t like GW2, perhaps ESO would be your fix, but I wouldn’t hold my breath. (IMO GW2 combat > ESO combat by a long shot.) BDO might be decent otherwise.
New World and Ashes of Creation are probably the best things you can look forward for PvP to in the future, but both look dead on arrival to me, especially New World.

I played it for 2 months and 2 weeks worth of time not for me.
I believe Amazon has a new LOTR mmo licensed, but IDK where they are on developing it.
Then theres also the LoL mmo, which sounds good on paper at least, and will almost certainly push PVP, but it’s going to be a ways off.
…I laughed. I wasn’t “triggered”. I just found it funny people still said that.

Ah forgot to add that new LOTR MMO that was rumored (or confirmed can’t remember) and the Riot MMO.
I’m more hopeful for those versus something like a New World. The flip flopping of NW just does not look good at all and I think we’re up to what 2 or 3 delays now? I think we all knew that the first release date was SUPER ambitious but it just goes to show, they didn’t know what they were originally doing lol.
Blade and soul had cool PvP for the 2 months or so I played it but i’m pretty sure it went P2W or something and fell off the face of the earth.
Both ESO and SWTOR are extremely fun OP.

Escape from tarkov is still in beta and may be for a few more years. but yes If you like shooters it is a PvP game.

Yeah, I saw a stream of new world and it didn’t look great, but I’ve heard that their redesigning a lot of stuff concerning player control and the overall feel of combat.
Graphics and story seem ok, and I like the renaissance or conquistador theme, which departs at least somewhat from the classic fantasy genre.
New World will drop eventually… and probably disappoint when it does. The Riot MMO has to be a few years out based on what’s been said so far and if a LOTR MMO has been rumored but nothing else I imagine that’s a 6 year wait. Promising candidates sure but nothing for the current fix.
The best PVP mmo is Overwatch
Let’s not pretend that high rated pvp isnt “scripted computer fights” at this point, it’s literally just trading CD’s now there is hardly any outplay going on in WoW pvp.

However, this is partly why other companies don’t want to do PVP the way you want. Bliz already does it, and they’re trying to be something different.
I can’t imagine playing the same maps over and over for like…3 expansions. God. No wonder you’re leaving.
