I never thought I’d be one of the players ever typing this. I play this game a lot. I put in my appeal and it was denied and I’m at a loss of what to do here. I wish I had more info of what transpired or what actions warranted these actions but I just play the game and do my quests.
Naturally as everyone has guessed, I got the dreaded Abuse of Economy e-mail. No info and I just don’t know what to do. I have played this game for 20 years and I have always known RMT is a big no no, which is why I have never participated in it, in any capacity.
I’m desperately at a loss here as there are other posts from other players but I don’t know where to turn. I know I sound like every other player, but this is really disheartening. If I could please have someone assist me, this really isn’t how I wanted to leave the game. I understand I could purchase the game again, but if there is a risk of this happening again, I’m at a loss of why to play again.
I hope this is the proper place for this as I’m out of options it seems and I guess I’m in shock of how sudden my WoW time has ended.

Keep appealing you weren’t by any chance receiving large amounts of gold via mail randomly were you.
All we can say is appeal until they say no more. The forums isn’t able to help with appeals - they don’t read it/take anything from it and the blues here ain’t part of them.
Unfortunately, it is not. The only way to request a review of your account action is to appeal it. I do believe you can keep appealing until they tell you no more appeals will be heard. An appeal isn’t a means for your to plead your case, only a request to have the GM/Hacks team review the account action to see if a mistake was made.
The Blues that moderate this forum aren’t GMs and do not review appeals or account actions.
I do know the appeal process changed recently, so I’m not sure if you can put in more than one appeal. If you can, you can keep appealing until they say no more appeals. About the only thing a Blue (Support Forum Agent) can say is if it was escalated for further review. That isn’t something you can request; it’ll be done by the GM reviewing the appeal.
The only gold I ever receive from the mailbox is from the AH and I did sell a Minion of Grumpus mount for 190k gold on the AH. I also bought Squeakers from the Blizz Store as well.
All I basically have done every day is run all my gold quests, complete the weeklies for the vault, and delves. I run 13 characters (1 of each class) and that;s all I do. And time walking when then event is on. I mainly play solo and have little interaction with other players.
Do u use a auto mail open addon. Reason i ask you may have recieved tainted gold from a salty player and accepted the gold unknowingly.
That’s why I’m here. I can’t appeal further and would just like any further information since I’m at a loss. Says appeal is open but they already responded. I’m trying to be patient but I’m just getting the sinking feeling my time with WoW is over and I’m grasping at straws. I’m not trying to be special, I’m just trying to exhaust all avenues before I give up.

I almost always check because it’s usually expired auctions that never sold and I always check to see if anything sold. I also checked my TSM logs to see if I ever received any gold unknowingly and nothing is there. I also went through all the logs to see if I could find something so I could just accept this, but it’s just be selling stuff to the NPC and repairing, so nothing exciting. I’m racking my brain here too.
I dont see this mentioned but do you play classic and transfered gold from retail to classic.
Within the past few weeks they have totally overhauled the Appeals system. The way it used to work (and that most folks here are talking about) is not true anymore. You are right, it now limits your ability to appeal, and it does give a confusing message.
This forum is an Information Desk, so hopefully a Blue can clarify the status on your ticket. It may have been escalated hence “open” still, despite the initial decline at the first level.

Fingers crossed there is still an investigation going.
I only play retail all characters on the same realm. I don’t even transfer my gold between characters or even my warbank. It just stays on each character.
Just checking. Youd be surprised how many people reciece tainted gold that way.
Believe it or not, I would be over the moon if the investigation is still open because I know nothing wrong has been done. It would feel much better than knowing it’s a closed case without ever knowing what happened and if I were to play again, would it happen again and I lose all that progress. Thank you for giving me a little hope.
Keep in mind that usually they only close the license, not the whole Battlenet account. So even if for some reason this is not able to be overturned, you can still start a new license on the same Bnet account (up to 8 WoW licenses) and access your collections. Which is def not ideal, but better than nothing.

Congrats. Hope ya have a nice time in game. I believe you can put in a ticket for lost game time when it happened.
