Any confirmation on increased gold cap for paid server transfers with prepatch?

This post is about paid server changes, not migrating from Classic to TBC.

As it currently stands the max amount of gold a level 51+ character can transfer to a new server is 2000g Source

There was a post made back in Feb citing that 2.4.3 allowed 5kG transfer for chars 51-60. Doesn’t provide sources, but I’m sure they exist.

Can we get any confirmation that this change will be included in prepatch/TBC?

I made this post. I checked the history and that was the gold cap.
Once TBC kicks in, the gold cap for transfer increases to 5K on level 60, and you can transfer up to 10K at level 61.

That is how it was in TBC, so it is more than safe to assume this is how it will be, but I’m not sure when they will open up the transfers again.

OK, I’m glad you asked this post, I went back and checked the sources and I was a bit mistaken:

  • Level 10-30: 300 gold limit
  • Level 31-50: 1000 gold limit
  • Level 51+: 5000 gold limit
  • Level 70: 10000 gold limit
