We can already “dual spec” with a cost lol…
If you mean the actual “dual spec interface” if you allowed it in raids it would fundamentally change/nerf the difficulty of all further TBC raids which I think we’ve mostly agreed no one wants. So then you add a cooldown or something so you can’t use it in raids… but at that point you’re basically just back where we’re at already lol… You’re literally just saving yourself a hearthstone.
Kind of an odd and silly thing to say considering he’s literally been involved with the rise of two of the US’s biggest/most successful gaming companies. But cool story? Let the hate flow through youuu.
Neth said the same thing and she’s still at Blizzard 15 years later. But since she ALSO said something you don’t agree with I’m sure she’s a pariah too huh?
I personally don’t care either way about free respecs or 50g respecs. I care about wasting the time rearranging bars/macros/gear, and I don’t think it should need to be done with addons.
It sounds like we’re not arguing about dual spec here, but the cost associated with Dual Spec. Maybe you guys should post in threads where they talk about removing the cost and leave the concept of ‘dual spec’ to those who understand that spec profiles is what it actually refers to.
I’m 100% fine with having to actually perform your respec in town. Hearthing/getting a summon, having a 1 hour (or 1 day) cooldown is definitely worth being able to swap between things without having to redo my UI each time.
Now that you’ve been provided the actual argument, why don’t you create a thread to garner support for your ideas instead of naysaying others? I would be interested to see how much positive feedback you would get.
Oh another lemon nonsense bait trigger happy thread with the sole purpose of getting people to go on eachother. Anything new? If this was the generals forum he would have had a suspension for it long ago.
Yea because clearly everyone at Blizzard who has ever said anything on their design philosophy should regularly release updates on whether or not any/all of their previous comments still stand. Just in case someone on the forums got a hair up their .
Sure. It’d be more convenient if there was a better interface… But the same could be said for MOST of classic. Part of it’s charm is that you’re (mostly) using the old interface, inefficiencies and all. And for people who prefer to modify that there are addons, same as it ever was. I don’t think we need to start modifying the classic interface to do what (even popular) addons do for the sake of convenience/aesthetics or whatever.
If that’s something you want, there are addons to get you there.
I live rent-free in too many of my fan-clubs heads. If I start a thread it gets instantly brigaded by people upset because I disagreed with them about something a year ago and it gets derailed almost immediately.
Also, I don’t need to “garner support” for the status quo that there is absolutely no indication will be changed. Yall are the ones who unilaterally decided this was even on the table despite literally all previous indication being it very much is not.
I’m down for it, but blizzard should charge the gold they currently do to change specs. Basically have 2 ui’s saved with keybinds etc just swap over in any major city.
As a genuine olive branch though, what do you think Patrick Dawsons comments were intended for? I would love to understand how a recent developer post about their intentions is being misunderstood by the community at large in your opinion.
Patrick Dawson: “No changes” being our guiding principle for WoW Classic made it very easy to make decisions on it. We just went to the reference client and went to that. But one thing we learned as we went through the release of the content in Classic is that [no changes] may not always be in the best interest of the players. Putting back in things like spell batching made the game feel a little less crisp. It was authentic, but it’s not what modern players want. The community today is so different from what the community was back in 2007 that it had us take a different philosophy with Burning Crusade , where we actually started to allow ourselves to make some changes that were in the best interests of the players that will continue to develop alongside the community .
