anti-Dual Spec people are a tiny minority of Classic players

It means if the community spots an issue and makes a case for its correction or improvement they will entertain the idea.

It doesnt mean they will cater to everyones demands.

Yet, nobody is demanding it, they are asking for it. They definitely cater to what people ask for. What as a member of the community are you contributing to the player experience?

Surely you can understand the difference between a mechanical change like “spell batching” and a “Qol change” that just makes the game easier?

I’m sure that if Blizzard were to take the first step with player profiles, they could see how much more often the community changes spec by making the process easier, while maintaining the gold sink of 2007.

After that, we would be able to have threads entirely talking about gold and your opinions and interjections would be much more appropriate.

I mean, its pretty obvious they think theyre entitled to it. I would file that under demand. Either way they can ask until theyre blue in the face - nothing needs to come of it.

As far as the forums and this topic is concerned, simply reminding people that they dont have a legitimate case for dual specs inclusion into TBC. They have a love of convenience and an agenda built to support it.

In game, Im a fun guy to play WoW with.

A mechanical change that makes the game easier… you mean like giving alliance seal of blood?

You mean like reducing the horde’s pvp queue time by introducing hvh?

Blizzard has stated over the years that their intention behind the client is to remove as much of a need for addons as possible. I haven’t ever seen an argument where someone has stated why it’s a good thing that people need to reconfigure their UI, or that along the way people complained that they should revert to people having to reconfigure their UI. Are you the one to do it?

but also really, you haven’t answered the question as to what you think Patrick Dawsons comments mean. I encourage you to take your time replying if you want to be taken seriously - I’m in good faith here giving you the benefit of the doubt because even though your post count is quite high, I don’t think I’ve read any of your previous threads.

Which is how we got retail. Which is how we got classic.

No, nobody has ever stated they want to have to reconfigure their UI after changing specs. This is not the same thing as reverting from retail to classic.

Nobody has ever used this as their reasoning to play classic. You’re losing me here. Please comment on Patrick Dawson’s statement.

I don’t think it’s that hard to parse. They’re not sticking to making classic a carbon copy anymore. That doesn’t mean they’re suddenly considering adding any system into the game that has ever existed in WOW. Just because you really like pet battles and really think that adding pet battles could bring people to the game and really think it wouldn’t hurt anything because if you don’t like it, you can just ignore it… that doesn’t mean Blizzard is suddenly entertaining the idea of adding “pet battles” to TBC.
Even though they conceded that some changes may be necessary.

If Blizzard came out and posted TODAY that they will not be implementing any kind of dual spec, what would you do?

Keep playing? Unsubscribe? Whatever the answer is, I would recommend you do that. This has been a forums debate for over two years. If Blizzard hasn’t answered your plea by now… well then…

Got it, so you in fact have no idea what blizzard’s current stance on dual spec in TBC Classic actually is.

What does

mean to you?

Have they asked us to stop making contributions? Have they said that they are finished developing alongside the community? Have they closed the doors?

I mean seriously my dude, I’m all for understanding if things have changed but you are trying to tell us that water isn’t wet when we’re in the pool.

If they said that, I think it would end pretty much all forum debate on the topic honestly.

Lol, are you new? It’s the kind of meaningless platitude developers say in interviews because it sounds nice. That’s literally all it is rofl. I bet he doesn’t even remember saying it, it was probably just part of his automatic “im on camera” repertoire. “Ok, and close with something about loving the community, and improvements and a better tomorrow…”

But you guys are hanging on it like it’s the last sermon. I guarantee you a random comment about “community” in an interview isn’t an indication of some underlying change in design philosophy rofl…

I love when people just make up statistics to support getting what they want. See, everyone agrees with me! I should start doing that.

No, we’re pointing out that blizzard has explicitly stated they were open to changes for TBC Classic, in a direct about face from their stance in classic, and has not only made that statement but has in fact acted on it.

So yeah it’s not just some empty statement to the community, it is in fact their actual stance.

OK, so how valid is a post from 2007, if you’re unwilling to accept comments from 2021?

Sounds like you don’t have respect for what the developers actually say, and more on what you feel they meant reading between the lines. I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that you don’t actually have a real argument but you don’t know how to quietly back out of a discussion. Maybe just stop replying.

Please try and keep the 'rofl’s and ‘lols’ out of your replies they don’t help you when debating people over the age of 15.

Plus it’s not just a comment, blizzard has actually backed up their stance in TBC Classic by you know, making changes.

One is a post(s) SPECIFICALLY ADDRESSING THIS EXACT TOPIC. Another is a vague comment from an interview about being open to some vague, largely mechanical changes, from which you are extrapolating, based on literally nothing but hopes and dreams, that dual spec is now up for consideration.

It’s not. It hasn’t been. You will get it with the WOTLK pre-patch.
