Another WoW Killer Falls. And One Overtakes WoW with Good Game Design And Thoughtful Developers

This is not accurate.

WoW always had gating. In Vanilla you had to get Attunements before you could enter certain dungeons which led into more attunements and then raids. The Difference was the gating was done for group content not for the open world content.

Player power progression was also gated behind the talent tree, but that was more organic because you gained a level…you gained power. Simple.

Just like a lot of players did, I tried to find other mmos to try out there and so far ESO has peeked my interest FFXIV didn’t tbh. Not that it was bad it just wasn’t my taste of the game. However, it’s brought me back to WoW after ragequitting shadowlands long before 9.1 came out.

I returned because this game was always there when I needed to bring my mood up. I loved it even with Cata and WoD despite people saying how bad those two expansions were. I do agree with WoD but Cata will still have a place in my heart since I started in that expansion. There’s too many memories for me to hate this game and I don’t think I’ll quit unless I start to lose interest in the game.

Name me one human that is infallible and I’ll take it back.

I never did play New World, I never got into the hype as graphics don’t make a game alone.

As for FF 14, I’m sorry to burst people’s bubbles but that game suffered a lot in it’s early days. Their original FF online game was much better in 2002 in my opinion when it came to being a MMO. If you always wondered why they called it Realm Reborn? It’s because they had to scrap the game and rebuild it to what it is today. (As it never played like a MMO more like a single player game)

If WoW is still sitting like this with no new engine, no WoW 2.0 like EQ2. No rebuild from scratch like FF 14, then I would say WoW has done more then anything else in the MMO genre of games then anything other games (even after 17 years), then this game has done something right, It’s held up to the test of time.

Other games are fine for the market, it means players are still wanting MMO’s to be developed. Players and game developers and those who are so Anti-WoW /Anti-Blizzard need to just stop and think before making claims in trying to knock a game out of the market.

Yeah I loved my in game shop in FF it was super awesome buying my boosts and skips but then I realized the art style was terrible and the story was just as hilarious as a C- anime from the 90s

I have been playing City of Heroes: Homecoming. Not a lot of people but it is active enough especially since instanced tasks scale to the size of the party and you don’t need the trinity. Plus the community is helpful.

So you say. Sorry my son plays it and has not a problem with it and 20 off his mates.

New world is a crafting open world pvp game not the same as WoW at all.

WoW number one at killing itself. And tbh I see more WoW fans call other mmos WoW killers more then the other mmo itself.

I’ve been subbing RL for the past 12 years. It’s siphoned at least 6 million players from WoW so it can’t be ALL bad. (It has gotten pretty bad since about 2016 if you’re from the U.S. with the politics and all. That’s a game mechanic I really wish the devs would remove…)

The problems with New World may be a poor server choice on the player’s part. I have been having a bug with it though. Literally can’t play the game because it’s decided I have suspicious software despite, to my knowledge, I’m not running anything but the game. And didn’t have this problem a week ago. Simple google search shows it’s a bug of some sort they need to fix. Eh. Other than that. I enjoy New World, probably more than WoW for many reasons. Not so much, FF.
