I discovered this while playing TBCC and found it still works in SOM. Using the Stuck Character Service, you can get your character from Teldrassil to the Gates of Stormwind in just a couple minutes.
Here are the steps:
- Set your hearthstone to the Darnassus Inn.
- Head to the Oracle Glade area, pass it and head toward that area where the quest NPC, Mist is.
- Pass Mist’s captivity spot going northward and staying close to the left. You’ll deal with a harpy or two.
- Facing west toward the edge of the zone, you’ll see an opening with a branch extending out into the open air.
- Jump down onto the branch.
- Click the red question mark for help. It will open a support page tab. Scroll down to the Stuck Character Service. Use this.
- The system will kick you off and you’ll get an email momentarily that the service has completed.
- Log back in and say hi to Stormwind.
It’s worked for me twice before and it did again last night.
Once you arrive in Stormwind, I would recommend grabbing your flight paths for this city as well as Ironforge. Then hearth back to Darnassus Inn. Head to Auberdine. Sail to Menethil Harbor. Get your flightpath there, and if you already got your flight paths at Stormwind and Ironforge, you’ll be able to fly to either one and continue your journey within the Eastern Kingdoms.
So, if you’re not in the mood for the run—and sometimes you’re not, you might consider giving this a try!

Imagine arguing about this.
It’s a cool little hack, I guess, but it doesn’t really save you any time, and it certainly doesn’t save you any effort.
Not arguing, just responding to your imagine this/ imagine that stuff.
I find it does save quite a bit of time, even more so if you don’t bother to grab flight paths at all. Not just time, but that run is just so tedious. It’s nice to be able to skip it.

But you aren’t stuck.
Even though this service may be automated and not engage a live rep, it’s still a sketchy use of it.
On that branch in Teldrassil, you cannot jump back. So, you are truly stuck.
This is an automated service that will port you to Stormwind from Teldrassil, and has been doing it for who knows how long.
Does it ruin immersion? Not mine. I’ve made that run many times over the years, and I’m happy not to have to do it anymore.

I know. Getting stuck must be terribly unfair and troubling. Hope that Blizz can help you out with that!
They really should have unlocked these flight paths by default. Fortunately for me, getting between the orc and undead starting areas is only 1 float boat ride away. Btw, in burning crusade, you can bum a shat port, bind your stone there, then portal anywhere else. If you do this, I suggest using the scryer side since their ledge is closer to the ground. You can run off without needing to use the elevator. The aldor one however was unnecessarily placed higher up so you must use the lift to go down or you’ll die.
