Overall, Frost got a 2% single target nerf and a 5% nerf in AoE. Frost is literally still fine and strong.
Heroic dungeons are irrelevant regarding the assessment of ANY class/spec’s performance and anybody using them to determine a class/spec performance is smoking crack and probably has a diet consisting of a high amount of paint chips. There are literally people are still running M+ keys on Beta and Ret still to this day is getting dog walked by Elemental, Enhance, Outlaw, Frost, Unholy, Havoc, and Survival in overall damage in +10 and higher keys. Single target sims accounting for the recent balance changes shows that ret is still middle of the pack and being around the low end of the middle of the pack in AoE. Ret was garbage during all iterations of raid testing as well.
Imagine being this condescending and having a superiority complex about meme heroic dungeon damage when you spent all of DF green/blue parsing in heroic raids and never hit above 2.5k IO in any season except pre-patch. Literally sit down.
I imagine he is the type of person who would blow cooldowns to AoE down the blobs when doing the double dragon trash pack before 3rd boss in DOTI-GF on Tyran weeks and feel proud of his AoE damage despite not having CDs for the boss.
All this malding over a 2% nerf when we’ve been performing well so far. I’d be inclined to agree if people knew what to actually complain about, like Deathbringer being left as is but Frost spec itself being nerfed.
Frost had a healthy population all through Legion and even Shadowlands. What could’ve possibly happened in DF that made it least played? Surely it couldn’t have been focusing an entire expansion on 2h Obliteration and ONLY that and having a single button on a 2 button spec doing 40%+ of the damage. No that can’t be it; clearly it must be that Frost was bad even though it was a top spec for prog during DF before the legendary
If a spec isn’t fun to play it doesn’t matter how good it is, people won’t play it. Frost and Arcane were both prime examples of that in DF.
The people on the forums think WoD performance was good, and it was literally the bottom of the barrel #4 or #5 from the bottom competing with Gladiator Stance Warriors. It wasnt that fun either and the representation was extremely low there as well.
They really took Adam Savages “I reject your reality and insert my own” comment to heart. For some reason people think that being upper middle or higher is the “literal bottom of the logs”.
This is what frustrates me about this class. It’s a good class, has the potential to be really great. Problems, 2 resource systems grossly out of sync. Too many skills on GCD that have forced synergy to function effectively from a performance stance. The same skills being on obtuse CD lengths. Only feels great in full tier with set bonuses which takes quite a while to do from a conventional play / loot cycle.
It’s such an issue with respect to gear that blizzard had to implement a catch up system which is used even by progression raiders. I’ve soured on progression raiding over the last 2 expacs but I did it lightly, mostly on my DH, passively on my Dk because the class didn’t feel good to play. I have mythic kills on a class that is on the whole fun to play and less of a chore to do so.
I don’t want to be playing RE Puzzle clicker when I’m playing my class during a raid encounter with more convoluted mechanics than you can shake a damn Kobold candle at. The class in general needs a desperate overhaul. At some point of your player base bringing up the same issues over and over, you have to wonder whether they’re incapable or unwilling to address the issues and fix it.
I do the nerf chase… which toon has best dps? I will play that toon.
Oh no that toon got nerfed! Move onto the toon wth the best current DPS.
weeks later they get nerfed!!! Oh no so I move on to the next best DPS.
This above is what I do and this is why I don’t see how anyone can have a main.
There is no alt or main using the above methodology.
