I have a source that thought ahead, and had wfh strictly in their contract.
Seems like they know how to deal with people far better than you do.

Oh~. You have a source. Can’t wait to see it.
Go figure, you work for a company renowned for treating its employees like sh!t and said company treats you like sh!t. Honestly nobody except the forums and Asmongold cares.
Awww, you think you’re important.
So you don’t have a source?
I am shocked. Listen and believe, bruh. Listen and believe.
Not much of an improvement… Have you guys ever been to Austin and Houston? If you wanna live cheap in Texas, you have to move outside the major cities. Last I recall, commutes ate 2+ hours through Houston, Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio. Texas is also a Right to Work state and employers can fire you for what ever reason they want.
The weather here is insane too.
As I own my own studio, I have 3 employees, Me, front desk and book keeper. When I need help with a project, I farm out for temp. Contract only. I see that a lot with businesses lately.
If you want guaranteed work, Construction is booming.
God forbid you have to actually be a decent valuable employee and do your job.
The weather is bad in many places in the country.
Which is the case nearly everywhere. Cities are usually going to be more expensive to live than a suburb.
The National Restaurant Association has predicted that at least 100,000 small businesses went out of business due to the pandemic lockdowns. Perhaps it’s due to small businesses are run by families, tend to be more self sufficient, and therefore would have less tendency to ask the government for help. There can’t be a socialist utopia with a thriving middle class.
That’s hilarious considering how boomers killed off all the stuff that helped them like cheap college, affordable housing, pensions, etc. AND they’re clinging to higher level jobs so their kids and grandkids can’t advance. Talk about only in it for themselves.
And the employees leaving are saying no, they are not going to do that. And the funny thing is, the possibly future owner of Acti-Blizz, Microsoft, does allow Hybrid/full WFH.
So now the only question now is who will truly suffer in the long run.
I hope they enjoy their little bitty unemployment checks until they are cut off and forced to go back to work in an office. lol
The tax payers since these people will start living with the assistance of government assisted programs. Welfare isn’t free.
This isn’t how a right to work state actually is, because labor laws still apply in them. What a right to work state allows for, is if someone gets hired at a company that’s unionized, the employee doesn’t have to join the union if they don’t want to. In states like MA, you have a probationally period, and once that’s up, you either must join the union, or leave the company. If unions are so great, they shouldn’t need the strong arm of the government to force people to join them.
It would nice for those people that spread this fallacy about right to work states do some research with that state’s website. Here’s what Florida, another right to work state says:
Article 1, Section 6, of the Florida Constitution sets forth everyone’s right to work in our state. This means that an employer cannot refuse to hire, or terminate you, just because you do not want to pay and participate in a union.
Here’s TX: Texas is a right-to-work state. This means that under the Texas Labor Code, a person cannot be denied employment because of membership or non-membership in a labor union or other labor organization. Tex. Labor Code Ann. §§ 101.001, et al. Texas laws protect employees from threats, force, intimidation, or coercion for choosing to either participate or not participate in a union.
Or they find new WFH, fully or hybrid. Like it or not, it is here to stay.
Everyone keeps screaming how Blizzard pays so badly and not up to industry standards but these people gladly sucked up that paycheck. If they could have found employment elsewhere, especially that paid more, they’d have done that. Obviously that isn’t the case.
So like I said, I hope they enjoy those unemployment checks while they last.
Or they stayed because they liked the job enough/enjoyed the benefit of WFH but with the removal of WFH the benefit/to cost to them have change and now they are ok with leaving said job.
Or they will find new work. From my undertstand the people leaving are higher up/pretty experienced so most likely they will find new work fairly soon.
I mean living within your means, saving, and investing all still exist. If some folks rather hve a poetry degree and wanna live in a city, congrats theyve chosen hard mode. Idk what to tell you
There is more to it though. Even if you dont join, the union is required to represent you.
I fully support union membership being optional but also only union members should reap the benefits and pay negotiated by the union. Thosw who dont wish to join…well they can just get w/e the company feels like paying.
It’s totally possible to work remotely and be productive. My husband has worked remotely for 2 smaller startup companies and one large pharm company over the last 18 years.
Obviously not all industries can work that way and you have to have disciplined and motivated workers. The one he works for now is in the process of closing down the unused office space at the hq as remote works out so much better.
