The blues here typically are the ones on Twitter too and they’re not GMs, nor are they part of the appeals process.
Reopen your ticket. In the end, that’s what helped last time.

Will keep at it.
Put yourself in my shoes and think about how i feel tho. Imagine a returning player who just wants to play classic fresh who comes back to the game, pays for his sub and gets an account closure notice within the FIRST hour of playing. Then i’m told twice that the closure is “final” before it gets in the hands of someone who knows what they are doing and overturns the decision. Now almost a week later i’m banned again but for a different reason, this time its hacking which again makes 0 sense because i don’t hack. I have literally just been leveling an orc hunter on dreamscythe for 47 levels now using restedXP addon.
So when i woke up last night to play again it started really getting irritating to find out i had gotten banned again for something i did not do or don’t think i did at the very least. The last thing i did yesterday before i went to sleep was a ZF dungeon run (yes we did open the graves for the extra exp), turned in some quests and then went to sleep.
Really hope blizzard fixes their anti botting software cause its wild how i feel treated right now.
No one denies the process needs some work. No one should have to go through multiple appeals to get something overturned that was a false positive. Pretty much every overturn we see here takes 2-3 appeals. Which is kinda crazy being that the same information is available to every person looking at the appeals.
Good luck!
Happy Holidays!
Sounds like something on your system is triggering warden. Anyone else use your computer or play on the same network?
Nope no one else in my house is a gamer.
Anyone else use your computer or network for work? Some programs people use can trigger things like this
Computer no, absolutely no one uses my pc. We have a few people who use cellphones and laptops but not for work purposes. Like i said earlier i have utorrent, discord and steam running at times or other games like valorant that use anti cheat programs but those really shouldn’t cause any issues.
From my understanding from reading multiple banned threads on reddit this could have been caused by literally anything. From opening graves in ZF to useing mouse wheel scroll up/down for pet attacks or getting a bunch of exp at once. Basically anything bots use actively can flag you on their system but who knows what actually caused it in my case.
If that were actually true then this:
Wouldn’t have happened. You can’t have it both ways. You can’t rail against the system, saying it doesn’t work while in the same breath show that it worked.
Dont believe things on reddit not everyone there tells the truth or part of it
Yes and i’m frustrated. This is the 2nd time this week since iv came back to wow that iv had this issue and i have NEVER ever been banned on my retail account for any reason and before you ask the only reason i didn’t use my retail account for classic is because i couldn’t remember the info at the time and wanted to get in an account going fast for classic fresh.
That’s not always true. When banwaves hit, occasionally the paramaters are a little off. The first one or two GMs may look at thee account data against the given Hacks team paramaters and see that it was accurate.
A few days later the Hacks team might realize something was a little off, or even losen, the parameters. Now suddenly when that 3rd appeal comes in, the account data now falls outside the paramaters for the account closure.
I get the frustration. You’ve been hit twice in a short period of time. Even though Blizzard has a lot of valid reasons for what they do, it doesn’t help when you get caught up in the process.
I think it seems worse for new or returning players, because the people cheating and bot manufacturers are using newly made accounts with stolen information or reactivating old accounts by hacking into them. They ban thousands every month, and a few innocents can get caught up in that process. It’s a never ending war.
I’m gonna assume they do a ban wave and most appeals will get denied outright because 99% (my made up number) are valid and cheaters will only try once or twice before heading to Reddit to rally the masses.
The rest are people with programs on their computer that they don’t realize flag the system (like work stuff), have other people with access to their computer or may be inadvertently using something to streamline multiple functions that crossed into the botting area.
Someone has previously posted a super helpful list of general things that trigger it but I really need to copy it.
You mentioned a mouse wheel function. Make sure all your macros are in game and not through the devices.
I wish you luck. You must keep appealing as they are filtering out the thousands of people that really were cheating and are just now lying about it.
Got an appeal reply.
Hahrenzaon
Hello again Corey,
This is Game Master Hahrenzaon at your service once more.
Now, regarding the second penalty on your WoW account; From what I can see, it seems that your specific case requires a deeper investigation. Rest assured that I’ve escalated your case to the proper team for another review.
We’ll keep you updated through email once we have more information to share.
Best regards,
GM Hahrenzaon
Looks hopeful, only time will tell.
I’m thinking it gets kicked to the development team to recheck the logs, and until this happens every appeal will get the same upheld reply, just personal opinion.
Someone in a hurry waiting after a 3 day wait probably doesn’t want to hear “maybe wait”, but for a thorough review that’s going to take time.
You could make a suggestion for that in a forum that blizz takes suggestions.
I wouldn’t really make this sort of comment, and I am not accusing anyone of being guilty or anything, but making this sort of comment kinda contradicts when we do not see the inner workings from either department at Blizzard Entertainment, and we do not know what is really going on from another persons point of view apart from our own.
To be frank, this is a heavily bias view on this; Confirmation bias. What you think something is true doesn’t mean it is, not every case it the same. You have no data on folks who was banned/action and wasn’t lifted nor chance.
Yes sometimes it takes a couple appeals, We do not need to be reminded on how many it took. Like rubbing a dogs nose in the mess they just made. Really not needed here of all places.
Yes, I think we can all agree with that, but perhaps this isn’t the appropriate place for feedback and this back and forth about it.
To be clear, other users may flag any post they feel may violate policy, we don’t penalize folks for that, even if they may not be correct in their flagging. The only thing that can come from a false report, other than having a moderator review it, is the post is temporarily hidden.
Otherwise, they wouldn’t necessary get in trouble unless they were abusing the reporting system by using multiple characters/accounts to do so.
I’m going to do a little clean up on aisle 7 to remove much of this back and forth, but may keep the thread closed as the OP does have an appeal in, which is the proper course of action.
