Since I’m not playing I’m just watching various streams on Twitch…man, when did Twitch turn into a sea of unblockable ads? You switch stream, ad. Switch back, ad. Another platform that’s gone to trash.

Did you expect it not to be? Literally EVERY expansion I can remember has had a horrible release with long queues, crashing, lag, overpopulation, etc.
This is why I’m putting in extra hours at work tonight–because I know I’m not missing anything.

what the dark portal is open? lol. Planned to not even step foot into outlands this week still leveling my shaman and rogue. Like others have said I have been through too many delayed or just plain unplayable launches to worry about day 1 rush through the gate.
They only had 20 years to perfect it… I totally understand.
It’s almost like the fact that it always happens when an insane number of people try to connect at once is indicative that you need to realign your expectations with reality.
Occam’s Razor. Here’s two theories:
- Blizzard is incompetent and 17 years of WoW launches having massive problems with a bunch of people in a small area is entirely their fault.
- Hardware, software, and remote connections, are complex and can’t be easily fixed by throwing more resources at them to handle arbitrarily large sudden influxes of demand.
Which one actually requires the least assumptions? Number 2 requires the least number of assumptions between them. Chiefly it requires only the assumption that things are harder than they appear to the laymen. Number 1 requires assumptions at every level.
What I don’t get is why people always showing up whenever something happens acting like this.

What do you even mean I got through the portal 3 minutes early and everything is working. My server decided to have ally and horde layers too which is interesting but why not. Where are the problems?
Ok I see some people complaining about lag, so far so good here but lag is expected honestly.

On Arugal it launched perfectly. We have about 4 layers though
