Another alch experiment post

Hellooo,

I’m at a bit of a loss, I’m at level 61 alch and every experiment I’ve done today (2 Cd’s and 3 reset potions) are just blowing up and incurring a 4Hr cooldown

Is there something I’m missing? I’ve burned out all of my first crafts so I’m sort of just chilling farming flowers while my Blacksmith mate rakes in like 150k a day lmao

I havent come into the expansion overly researched, while the profession overhaul is super nice it’s certainly been a bit to get the head around!

Nope this is literally working as intended. As in, terribly.

Can’t even max out Alchemy because the only thing that levels it is experimentation. Can’t do experimentation because of the explosions locking me out for 4 hours. Chance of explosion is moronically high. Just had three explosions in a row.

It’s little wonder people were exploiting the lockout. This has to be one of the worst profession based ideas I’ve seen pretty much ever. At this rate, I can look forward to hitting 100 Dragonflight Alchemy towards the end of the next expansion.

I can’t get experiments to work its completely bugged so I cant progress

From when I made this post I decided not to deal with it and just rerolled ench/tailor and am on par with what was my alch, but the stinky blues are selling for 300g-1.2k, turning 5x the profit over 3 hours of mining/herb farming for alchemy which are crafting potions that either go for nothing …Or you’re a rat exploiter that’s saturated the AH with the only value alch offers atm (that being T3 Pots of power), which anyone who didn’t exploit just cant compete with

So fun fact: I have been reading some guides to see if I am missing something or some other way to max out my Alchemy.

From lv 65 onwards, there is literally nothing. Zero options will skill you up outside of experiments.

Bonus fun fact: At lv 90 both basic and advanced experimentation turn green. So good f***ing luck getting those last 10 points when you explode 80% of the time per experiment.

No way Blizzard thinks this is fine and leaves it as is, I haven’t even bothered leveling it or wasting any Herbs on it until we see how this plays out. Just farming Herbs for now, debating dropping Alchemy for Enchanting or Tailoring to make gold instead.

honey, does not tolerate this… i will cancel subscription until the fix the hell of a ton of bugs they have in this game. (reported in beta btw)

and they dont even open raid and mythic yet… that will be so fun to see

It’s really dumb, I get that a failed experiment might add some “flavor” to the profession, but the 4h cooldown is just stupid. If I don’t have a liquid courage (which you get from experimentation as well) then I’m screwed and can’t progress on my profession even when I have the mats.

I think the cooldown should be drastically reduced, or we should have some sort of protection against it, or a failed experiment should be reworked and instead of giving you a 4h cooldown, should just consume the mats without giving you anything.

Blizzard wants to make the professions matter more and make it viable for players to basically treat the professions as their endgame, which is reall tough when you have to wait for a 4 hour cooldown, to try and experiment again, only to fail at the first try and then get the 4h cooldown again, is senseless friction

…Or we just use the old system where you do a research every day or so without the clown fiesta of exploding or having to log on every 4 hours to maximise our moronically low chances of success. The same system that has worked fine for 10+ years.

And actually giving us a recipe that skills up past 65 would be nice too.

This is still happpening. At least 50% of my experiments end in an explosion and a 4 hour lockout.

If I was getting a 50% success rate, I’d consider myself blessed at this point.

I would say if you are going to experiment pick either Phials or Potions first. Then us knowledge increase your chances of success when experimenting.

How are you getting these reset potions? i cant find anything about them, but it sounds like they are being made as a byproduct in alchemy?

Liquid Courage is randomly produced via experiments. There is no way to manually produce it.

The 4 hour cd on alch experimentation, is straight up BS

you dont consume materials when it explodes, just a FYI. so you lose nothing by trying it…

I sepcced into that and it made zero differnce

You did a comparison of before and after with a large enough sample size to make an accurate analytic analysis?

I can only try once every 4 hours lol. What arent you understanding
