Anniversary bugs

To be honest… I wasn’t payment much attention but now that you mention it, the invites seemed kind of random. I know I got it on some but not on others. I thought it was odd but am swamped with work right now so I did a senior moment at it and let it slide.

:cookie:

None at all but it does let blizz know we’re unsatisfied and that we want things changed in a timely manner…

WoW’s 16th Anniversary

  • ( With overnight restarts ) Fixed an issue that prevented many players from queuing for the Korrak’s Revenge battleground.
  • Quest experience and reputation gains should now properly be increased by 16% during WoW’s 16th Anniversary event.
  • Players that have previously completed “A Timely Invitation” and "Soldier of Time” should once again be eligible for the quest.
  • Characters who are still on Exile’s Reach will now earn the WoW’s 16th Anniversary achievement and associated mail upon their first login after escaping the island

At least the history lesson quests works lol.

THat was an easy xp fix for a 40-ish char using google. This repeats iirc so it too can join the daily rotations.

I tried to queue many characters. Only one did not get the “join as group” error.

It seems odd that they would make huge changes in what was supposed to be the centerpiece of the anniversary, and then not bother to test it.

lol - I am old enough to get that reference…

Having logged on to toons I didn’t log onto yesterday, I noticed that it’s random. Some get the invite, some don’t. Level has no bearing.

they can’t magically fix things faster than possible, no matter how unsatisfied you are.

They’d never get away with that show now

This is what happens when something is put in the game without testing or QA (quality assurance).

Once again this all goes back to those 800 ppl that got laid off at the start of last year in a variety of support departments including, you guessed it, testing and QA. This is a problem that is not going to go away for Blizzard, and quite frankly whoever made the call to lay those ppl off should probably be not making those types of decisions anymore. Until Blizz properly staffs up those departments we can expect more delays, more catastrophic patch and expac releases, etc.

if that’s the case, why have anniversary issues like this dated back to the 8th… 9th anniversary?

No, not at all. Those anniversary releases didn’t come out just before the release of a new expac. Right now the WoW is probably the busiest that it has been since those layoffs happened.

If Blizz was just working on a patch and some in-game events they’d probably be alright. But when you are dealing with a new expac with all new in-game systems, that is a tremendous amount of work.

Logged back in and the gift was reset. When i opened it i got the quest on a lower toon. The issues was fixed and i was able to que but broke the second the loading bar filled after que pop. around 25 mins in que the two times i was able to and both times got inst ported back. It’s now back doing the same error message about a group even though i was solo. I just said screw it and logged out. Iv got better things to do then spend another day trying to figure out how to gain a que, two was enough…

they’ve already said the fix will become active after restarts.

every 2nd anniversary is around the same time as an expansion launch.

Was just saying what happened to me after their first fix. WoW’s 16th Anniversary

  • ( With overnight restarts ) Fixed an issue that prevented many players from queuing for the Korrak’s Revenge battleground. But tbh idc anymore i think iv played the game a bit too long anyway.

Take care hope you find yourself some day.

yes, exactly what i just stated.

which are scheduled to happen shortly.

Well this is the first expac release since the big layoff so that answers your question. Do you actually think that the layoff of 800 ppl did not factor into this??

Unfortunately some ppl just debate for the sake of debating. They don’t actually have anything to contribute.

unlikely.
most of the layoffs were esport dudes.

current issues are more likely related to people having to change how they work and communicate, due to a pesky pandemic.
