To see how hard they could screw a server full of people before they would unsub. I gave them my results today. Dungeon groups are still difficult to find as all transfers are level capped and there is no RDF. Most zones are now being ganked by 70s 24/7. The AH and economy is ruined. And to make matters worse BG XP is bugged for a lot of players so there are 0 ways to actually level your character. All with 2 weeks less than the people that got to move here for free before the expansion. This is the biggest blunder Blizzard has made in recent memory. How can you mess up the prepatch experience this badly for folks who were promised a fresh start?
LOL roll a pvp server get rekt and cry on the forums. congrats you played yourself scrub.
If you think a level 30 vs a level 70 with full brutal is actually pvp I feel sorry for you.
That could have been a level 50 without brutal and it would have been a blow out.
People get ganked, no need to run and cry on the forums.
if you think a 70 vs a 30 is unusual on a pvp server i feel sorry for you.
Are you guys really crying that there are chars on the server with a 2-week advantage? or were transfers opened from realms other than skyfury
Ignoring the fact that the people doing the gankings didn’t share the same experience as they ACTUALLY got a fresh start. Would you care to address anything else? Or do you have a blizzard boot calling your name?
I got ganked on skyfury 2 weeks ago. World pvp is never really fair after day 1.
Theres those that get to 70 in 4 days. And then theres those who do not… and all in between.
Zero people were getting ganked by 70s in full brutal day 3 on skyfury.
It doesnt really matter if you get shot in the head by a 9mm or a 10mm at point blank does it? (Metaphorically speaking)
While youve been complaining on the forums, another no-lifer gained a level and is headed to STV to farm low levels.
Its the way she goes…
Well, I mean, two weeks is more than enough time for many players to hit 70, get mass amounts of gold, farm gear, etc.
One of the appeals of having a fresh server was that there weren’t going to be an influx of level 70s running around with thousands of gold, controlling the economy, ganking low-level players to the point that they can not finish quests and level up (Yes, ganking is allowed on PvP servers, but the extent to which is happening should never have been a thing because no level 70s should have been able to transfer to a fresh server)
It’s not about what IS and ISN’T PvP - it’s the fact that that level 30, among everyone else on that server, was told that no transfers were to take place for at least 90 days, so they could level with more ease. But now, you have 70s running around, ganking lowbies, effectively griefing them.
There are several admittedly frustrating things about letting skyfury transfer onto angerforge. Complaining about getting got in world pvp detracts from all those things.
Yes, we should have taken one of the many PVE server offerings that came out the day AF launched.
Its player vs player. not level vs equivalent level.
If you don’t want to be ganked don’t go to a pvp server. That’s the literally the point of its existence, ganking and being ganked. Bad troll delete this thread
The OP’s point isn’t that world PVP should be fair.
The issue is that Blizz promised no xfers to ensure a fresh experience. Part of that experience, especially on a PVP server, are the battles that occur between levelers. It really only happens within the first few weeks of a new server and it’s glorious. Everyone is on the same level to start.
The fact that skyfury was so overpopulated is proof that people enjoy that experience.
What Blizz did in allowing 70s fresh off an AV weekend to come to Angerforge, ruining the fresh server experience.
Why did you roll on a PVP server tho, doesn’t matter what Blizzard did and didn’t, PVP servers won’t change. You have 0 credibility coming here complaining about PVP whatever the reasons and circumstance.
It was 2 pretty big weeks though. We had a full AV weekend. A LOT of people have at least 1 level 70 in full S4 gear with epic flying and a few thousand gold.
Considering that on day 3, Angerforge had maybe a handful of level 70s, and the AH was still full of items at leveling prices (not so far from vendor pricing), it’s not that hard to see the type of impact that could have, even if just the hit to morale.
Then take a look at the announcement of Angerforge:
Does this suggest that transfers are going to be enabled in 3 days?
I mean it does and it doesn’t. Getting ganked isn’t the worst thing in the world, but I feel there is a major differnece here.
People who transfer a 70 here know full well that the vast majority of the established playerbase is going to be <40, trying to level and that they have a massive advantage over them.
You must see that this is going to be an attractive proposition to the type of person who enjoys ganking in the first place.
I honestly hope that you are right and my worries are unfounded, but at this point, I fear for the remainder of my levelling experience.
