The title says it all, we were hovering around 25,000 auctions on Alliance AH a few days ago…now it’s dropped around 15k.
This is even worse on Horde side who were already slightly lower in population there.
I know Blizzard sometimes take a long time to act, but will they wait until the server is a ghost-realm to do something?
What can realistically be done, the term merger is thrown around a lot, but have they actually done that before, and do you think it’s possible for Angerforge and Skyfury?
Interesting, do we have any timeframe on phase 2 release?
I think it would be in Blizzards best interest to manage server populations better. Letting the players wholly decide is just like raising a spoiled child.
It comes back as something worse, not better in the end.
This site is probably a better way. Although it’s probably off by a large margin still because there is no way there are 7k people on Horde Skyfury at any given time. There weren’t even that many people calculated for Ironforge.pro last week. Neither are there more horde than alliance.
I do not sell anything on AH. Does that mean I do not exist? Maybe you should look at the majority of the players on this “New” server were retail players and now they’re going back to retail. True classic players were not starting over for the long haul on this server. Or maybe a ton of bots were banned and AH items removed.
They have made clustered realms for Classic Era. My personal preference would be if they offered free transfers from Angerforge to Skyfury, with a set date (say 30 days from now) when they will remove Angerforge and auto-transfer any remaining characters there to Skyfury.
We are in phase 1, phase 1 content is a joke. We’re getting to the point where most main characters who are raiding don’t need anything from current content anymore. So unless you’re a pvp’er or have an alt, you’re likely raidlogging. Now also keep in mind, people are most active right after raid reset, so the AH is gonna be the most busy on a Tuesday than any other day.
There seems to be a few flaws and oversights with your data. 2 days of AH observation is not a very accurate method to determine population.
OMG sound the alarms! Angerforge lost 40% of its auctions in two days.
What lead you to believe that the number of auctions = player population?
Have you considered that some people log in certain days of the week more than others?
Have you considered that AH Goblins know this and post more items on the days where there are more customers?(because it costs money to post auctions)
I’m not saying the WOTLK Classic population is growing, staying the same, or shrinking. I’m saying that the metric you’re using will only produce garbage conclusions about the population.
