Anduin's MANHOOD

On top of that being a tool to nearly “kill” your own planet and you can’t stop yourself.

I think that’s another thing people forget, sure the Jailor/Zoval was a bad expansion villain, but at the end of the day he used Anduin in his goal to nearly “bring death” to us all, and whatever else.

We also have no clue what Kingsmourne did with his head, since that was infused with Arthas (and it looked more like the Lich King side of him). Plus, he went down a similar route that Death Knights do, like Darion Mograine.

I get that, and I get that that’s what they were going for, I just feel like they didn’t go hard enough on the plot point to justify the ends that they wanted. Which is a recurring Danauser failure as a storyteller - he wanted the scene where Sylvanas pointed the sword at Anduin, completing the arc where she became what she hated, but didn’t bother making how the Jailer convinced her to do that make sense. He wanted the scene where a shaky, traumatized Anduin was found by Thrall, but he didn’t bother having him do enough that was actually terrible to make him that upset.

It’s the dots in between that he’s bad with, as a writer, that would’ve made the emotion of the story feel earned and justified. Without that, we have to sort of back into it making sense with insufficient pieces. We can make it story shaped again through inference and by making up things that sound explanatory, but we shouldn’t have to with a story this simple. It should’ve been show, don’t tell.

I would have liked if he hung out with Darion instead of Sylvanas post Shadowlands. Fans have those two guys be buds all the time. ( Well there’s the shippers too but most of the time it was “they’d be good friends for each other” )

I belive he is taken op

Anduin’s not going to resort to violence. It’s not politically correct these days. Choose this decision if you think he’s MAN enough to try something else.

What that poor guy has been thru would completely break pretty much anyone. Keep in mind his life has been a freaking nightmare since the the beginning of the game. Lost his mom, thought he lost he dad only to actually lose him later, raised by a dragon who was trying to manipulate him, had his entire body crushed during Mist, was forced into assuming control of the Alliance as a teen being thrust into a war with the Legion, then a world war with the Horde right after, then kidnapped to the Maw where he was tortured by The Jailer and Sylvanas, then turned into a puppet for the will of The Jailer and forced to fight against his friends and allies.

Dude has had a rough life, it is amazing he is just struggling with in.

Did he cry in that cinematic? I don’t recall seeing that. He expressed distress to someone he trusted. I think that’s a bold move on his part and cathartic for his recovery.

I’ve watched videos on youtube of big, strong men reduced to tears for various reasons; their wife giving them the puppy they have wanted for years, watching a particularly heart-wrenching movie, seeing colour for the first time when their son gives them a pair of colorblind glasses, and so on. There is nothing ‘unmanly’ about crying; its a human response to moments of strong emotion and, in my possibly unhumble opinion, it makes them more of a man because they can express their feeling without fear or shame.

This is gonna sound emo. But he looks to me like he actually can’t cry anymore. Like he ran out.

Only saying this because I’ve been there a few times

Those vids are so sweet

That’s kind of the impression I got from him as well. He’s so broken and traumatized after everything he’s had to deal with, from the faction conflict to his father’s death, and being dominated by the Jailer, that he’s got no tears left to shed.

Really didn’t help that Thrall sounds like his Dad

uh what? im still here

lol oh ya? care to explain how people like me give people ptsd? What frame of mind do you have to have to accuse me of something like this over a simple opinion in wow?

They didn’t say you give people PTSD, they said people like you are part of the reason people with PTSD struggle to deal with it.

Not unless he experienced another instance of potentially turning to the dark side that wasn’t influenced by Domination magic. This would likely just feel him confused and doubting himself.

Scott McNeil voiced Durotan, using his Piccolo voice from back when DBZ was dubbed by Ocean before Funimation took over.
