Anduin with PTSD. What am I missing?

How did you miss that Anduin is messed up from the evil stuff The Jailer made him do?

Guys we have it wrong, it’s not that Anduin is a whiner or a sissy, the last three expansions were so bad they broke him mentally.

The Jailer had him mug some silly robots and steal sigils. That’s not exactly PTSD-inducing stuff you can’t simply shrug off.

Get outta here with that nonsense.

Blizzard won’t either. I’m sure Anduin is going to have his moment where he finally comes to terms with whatever and the light comes back to him in some kind of epic and glorious fashion. He probably won’t be 100% back to himself, but it’ll be a cheer-worthy moment. Just like when he broke free from the domination magic and just like Sylvanas got when she finally was “herself” again and so benevolently gave Arthas the forgiveness she deemed he needed and allowed the last flickers of his spirit to wisp away.

Wrong. He had him do worse than that. Try paying attention or maybe go to a more simple game for you to follow, K?

When he points the sword at Thrall he’s doing Arthas’s favorite pose.

What sword is he using these days, anyway? Kingsmourne was destroyed, right? Did he get Shalamayne back?

P.S. I remember when Anduin was mind controlling allies just so he wouldn’t have to go home to Daddy. Which is probably also traumatic for him to remember, now that he knows what it feels like for the victim.

Like what? You can’t name an example because he didn’t do anything.

Maybe you should pay more attention next time.

Dismissed.

Has anyone experienced severe depression and PTSD? People are quick to judge and pass judgement but unless someone felt its crippling effects those judgements don’t mount to a hill of beans.

People with depression and ptsd don’t need judges they need friends.

It’s really easy to pass judgment on somebody unless you know first hand experience from what PTSD is. It destroys a person, and you never know what could trigger a flashback. Whether it be a word or an action that will take you back to that haunting moment.

It’s no different than Thancred from ffxiv when he was possessed by Lahabrea. Sure, he still stuck by his comrades, but you could see the change in him. He was definitely more cold hearted and bitter in Heavensward.

Same here.

People with PTSD just do not understand how it really affects us, and how easy it is to lash out like he did. It’s really not something easy to control.

Secondly, I think everyone complaining about anduin in that cinematic are purposefully ignoring the horrible things he has had to witness in such a short span.

He was a child when his mother died in a riot, onyxia, and so much more. He has been through a ton at such a young age, and it does drastically change you.

Secondly, people are forgetting that part of him enjoyed killing and stuff, he admitted this to sylvanas. He is scared and confused as to why he does, because he always believed himself as a paragon of the light and a protector of the innocent. I can definitely see where that would mess with his psyche.

Arthur wasn’t mind controlled. They have stated that an annoying amounts of time. He defied the jailer and did his own stuff, which is why the dreadlords were trying to kill him in WoTLK.

The “but he was mind controled!!!” people haven’t thought about it very hard.

If perfect mind control existed, and it was used to make a parent kill their child, that person would likely be devastated for years if not the rest of their life. Being mind controlled wouldn’t matter.

I certainly did. I had a lot of stresses in life, some instability in medical status that amplified my emotions. I saw how my sense of love and compassion, even my sweet disposition, could become corrupted to justify horrendous atrocities to those who I thought were an impediment to my goals.

It still haunts me to this day. I see others who are similar to me in disposition, making the same mistakes, and clearly grappling with a conflict deep in their subconscious. We all want to strive toward the light, but what we’re willing to do to achieve it? That’s where the seeds of corruption take root.

I think it is that classic possession trope…

He was possessed by the Jailer and he did some pretty terrible things. When took the sigil he cemented ALL souls of ALL people who died to go straight to the maw and if I rmemeber correctly that place sucked.

ANd everything else he did he wittnessed first hand. Anduin also seems to be the kind of guy who would do something about someone doing something bad and he could not. every single action the jailer took he could only sit back and watch it happen. And he was powerless to stop any of it. That has got to weigh on you…

PLus then he was sentenced to roam for a while with Sylvanus and that is got get old really quick. Little Miss whiny banshee would get on my nerves fast. She already does and to me and she is just a bunch of undead pixels. Imagine if it was real. All that mary sue bad writing “BURN IT” karen attitude 24/7… Oy…

Or maybe his crippling PTSD was caused by the Joy of the Almighty Metzen returning to his throne and that means he can finally have a meaning storyline…

I always get a kick out of people making fun of Anduin for what he went through, when the most traumatic thing you’ll experience is being told that the ice-cream machine isn’t working.
