He comes across as just way too pure and nobel to the point he’s not even really a character and more just a personification of good and its really annoying everytime he comes on screen. Him and slyvanas are just way too Saturday morning cartoon for thier own good
behold, the power of conjecture compels you. and rhetoric and persuasion and logic of course.
It’d be more boring if every character was an edgy anti-hero. The past couple expansions has shown a good deal of character growth for Anduin I think. The last cinematic shows he isn’t some naive kid anymore.
Anduin and Sylvanas are two of my favorite characters.
You can be a hero with out being overly goody goody like him. He comes across as unrealistic
He is King. I suppose he is modeled after our fair Queen Elizabeth.
He exists to balance out the Saturday Morning Cartoon Villain that is Sylvanas (and previously Gul’dan).
Ok, tell me what you would change about the character to make him more ‘realistic.’
I think it’s refreshing to see a character that errs on the side of Lawful Good so strongly. I don’t think we’ve really had a character like that in WoW (excluding, I guess, Velen?), which is why he’s more of a love/hate character for people.
Is it exhausting that he’s a main plot character in Shadowlands? Sure, I can see why some might think it - but he’s fleshed out, and that’s just his nature. I don’t see it as a bad thing.
However, I’m a little sick and tired of seeing Sylvanas, if I’m being honest.
I don’t know maybe have him not try to play psychiatrist with the person who kidnapped and tortured him? Thats not a normal human response and it makes him come across as mentally ill. The correct response is anger and resentment especially if we’re to believe the torture in torghast is as bad as Jaina and Baine act it is. Even the nicest person couldn’t hold it together after something like they explain.
Stop projecting your inability to be good on to other characters, it is possible to be that good and “pure” as far as you would like to take that word. Although it is disingenuous to assume he is that way without taking into account his growing pains. Everyone has their flaws but it isn’t unrealistic to be a good person.
Correction, that would be YOUR response
So humans are robots that only know how to respond one way to any given situation? Ever hear of coping mechanisms? Some people laugh at horrible news because it’s the only way they know how to deal with it. There is no such thing as ‘correct’ or ‘incorrect’ responses.
Give Anduin body odor and make him laugh at his own farts.
Basically, it i started ripping off someone’s finger nails and shoving splinters into thier eyes theyre not going to sit there and act as if thier my therapist.
Humans react to things in a certain way. He’s not even a person at this point he is just a paragon of justice and goodness which is really dumb
have you looked at the game you are playing… its a saturday morning cartoon bruh.
Velen did find more perspective on things after his time with Illidan. Which made his character quite interesting. I like that they made him that open minded to finally listen and understand.
And I, too, enjoy Anduin’s Lawful Good. And also would like to see Sylvanas go away. Forever.
sylvanas and anduin will marry and kiss and make love. she loves her little lion thats why she flusters around him
he brings meaning to her life
She isn’t physically torturing anduin, she is mentally trying to wear him down and convince him to join their side willingly. It wouldn’t be a willing choice if they just stuck hot pokers in him till he said yes, would it? Your interpretation of what is going on there is way off.
Can you link me the part in the cinematic where we saw Sylvanas shoving splinters in Anduin’s eyes?
In a certain way that is unique to them. There isn’t a blueprint for grief or trauma.
I dunno, I think justice and goodness is cool af tbh. In my opinion, one of the most boring things about World of Warcraft is the overuse of anti-heroes or ‘morally gray’ characters. I actually really enjoy Anduin’s personality and it’ll honestly suck if they do to him what they’ve done with literally every other character by giving him a shopping list of crimes and horrible deeds to try and invalidate what he really believes and stands for.
