A majority of my guild/raid group is looking forward to Cataclysm Classic. So far only 2 people have said that 100% they are not playing it. Those two people would also just stop playing anyways even if we didn’t move forward into Cataclysm. They have both grown tired of the game for the most part.
Some people have been playing Classic as a way to experience content they never got to experience in it’s released form. That is what a lot of my guild is playing it for, and most of us are entirely bored to death of the old world leveling process.
Personally, I played since Vanilla, but my Vanilla guild killed like 1 boss in Naxx 40, didn’t finish Black Temple or Sunwell, and I stopped raiding part way through Wrath. I never experienced Cata Raids, which are considered really good up until the content drought that occurred at the end of the expansion.
Also, the whole idea that Cataclysm Classic is not Classic is correct but not in the way people are using it. Classic is a redo of Vanilla. That is the only singular “Classic” there is. However, re-releasing the next expansions provide the Classic version of those expansions. We got TBC Classic, Wrath Classic, and now Cata Classic.
The idea that the changes made to the zones in Cataclysm somehow means that it can’t be considered a Classic version of Cataclysm is silly.
But yes, going by your 30% drop off comment, lets say it happens again. What about the 70% of the player base DIDN’T quit during Cataclysm? I guarantee you the drop off would be much higher if they didn’t release Cata Classic. The roster boss that most guilds are dealing with right now in late WotLK really points to that being the case. People are getting burnt out on the content we currently have, and had for the most part already got their fill of the previous expansions.
I think you really underestimate the amount of people that actually want Cataclysm Classic because of your own bias.
Once again, you raged and insulted me. Didnt have to read any of it. Thats just all you do 100% of the time. so I know that’s all you did without reading a word…easy to get you going too btw. You wasted your time typing all that? Still at 213 ilvl with AP stacking when your hit is not even up enough to make up for it? Or are you finally better than that now. We can just hope things go better for you in Cata. Been a pretty rough ride for you here in Wrath. Lol.
Easy to see when someone has gotten under your skin…you insult them and go super crazy. I waited over 7 hours to reply to you here… you started typing up your rage filled reply seconds after I posted my reply to you. The only way that chain of events happen is if you were literally spam click refreshing the forums waiting for me to say something. And your entire history of posts here on this thread is just you telling people to shut up and calling everyone idiots.
You seem mad that Mauls ignores you every time you rage at him.
Still having an easy time getting under your skin. You literally start your replies to me within seconds near 100% of the time even when I type them hours or even days later to you. You like me and cant get enough of me. Stop denying it. I got a rogue fan on the thread now. I’m flattered. Thank you.
Yeah, having a forum alt makes good sense. You get all the notifications on one char. No need to log in on more - with how instable forum logins are this is real smart
Plus you do not get stupid comments in-game for what you wrote in forums.
Plus those only taking ppl with iLevel XX or PvP ach or XX parses serious can go stick it
Speaking from my US Forum-alt, who has been level 10 forever, and forever so will remain. I am NOT going to play any more retail to level him (only Retail is free for EU players on US servers, not Classic).
I guess I don’t really care either way. Hopefully it doesn’t hurt the other game modes too much. I assume there are people who are psyched for Cata Classic, so I hope they have a great time and get everything they want from it. I’ve had such a blast with Classic that I hope everyone gets to enjoy that feeling if they want it.
In hindsight I’m really glad I didn’t have time to do WotLK Classic, because based on most of what I’ve heard, I think I might have hated it. WotLK was a fun expansion for me, though. In a perfect world, I’d be far more likely to play WotLK Era than Cata Era. I’d take TBC over both, but I wouldn’t trade pre-expansion Era for anything.
It’ll be interesting to see what happens with Cata Classic. It seems like most people have very tempered expectations. What I’m curious about is what will happen after that. People tend to think of MoP more fondly then Cata, or at least that’s my impression, so even if CataClassic is unpopular, there may still be significant stirring for MoP Classic. I don’t see myself going back there, though (which is fine).
I would for like them to have a better way of articulating the different Classic expansions. I think my dream would be Vanilla, TBC, and WotLK eras, and when you hit max level in one you can clone your toon, leave one behind, and have the other progress. I doubt that three Classic eras, retail, and seasonal realms would all be able to survive concurrently, though.
