Ancient Waygate questline bugged

I sure wish we could get a Freaking blue post about the issue getting looked in to AT LEAST. its been over a month!

I’m having the same problem D:

Are you max renown? I’m not yet renown 23 with the Dragonscale Expo (last waygate unlock) and I’m not sure if getting that will fix it or not.

I unlocked the last waygate earlier today and still haven’t gotten the quest to pop up. I’ve reloaded, straight up logged out, nothing.

It’s happened once before, but the quest was actually available when I talked to the dwarf despite the ! not being there. Not this time.

So, apparently blizzards fix (for me at least) was to just give me the achievement and opened the final gate for me. i only just realized this yesterday, so it may be worth looking to see if you got the achievement and the waygate.

I finally got to 23 renown with the expedition, and I had two waypoint quests available - Vakthros and Shady Sanctuary. Vakthros was the quest that bugged out on me, and it still being available means that I didn’t get credit when it did bug. Now I have no way to get that waypoint, because there are no more renown levels that grant the quest.

Logging out and back in didn’t make the quest for Vakthros become available after I finished Shady Sanctuary, either. I think the workaround might be to try to do Vakthros (in my case) on an alt and see if that helps.

I’m renown 10 and according to the renown page, I should have unlocked Ancient Waygates III. Still no quest…

For people finding this thread via google because none of the quests at the dwarf are showing up:

The “fix” is that in the 11.0.2 prepatch at least, you need to get the forwarding/breadcrumb quest from Doc Nanners to send you to the dwarf. Doc’s in Valdrakken:

The in-game Renown display says to “go to Thaelin up the hill from the base camp” etc, but that’s incorrect. The breadcrumb quest from the capital is required, and then for each breadcrumb, you unlock your choice of actual “Waygate: XXX” quests.
