I’ve been rank 7+ since probably Weds afternoon, and at 7:25pm CST tonight, out of nowhere I finally got the quest to pop up.

Curious what you did because it’s still bugged and not appearing for me, regardless of logging in/out, toggling WM on or off, etc.
Same here. Popped renown 7, but the quest never popped. I flew to the dwarf guy, and the portal is purple, but he does not offer me anything, and I cannot use the portal.
In case anyone else has the same issue I did, once I unlocked it, the dwarf had no dialog. There is a long chain in Azure Span that unlocked them for me and the end of that quest took me back to the dwarf.
After turning that in I got a new quests for 6 gates.

This broke for me too. I was able to do the quest chain. I turned in the quests to the dwarf. I had 6 waygate quests available but as soon as I accepted two the rest disappeared, so now I can’t unlock any more waygates.
This is intended, as you only get two waygates to start and unlock them one-by-one as renown progresses. The NPC dialogue unfortunately is not clear on this fact. The quests are there as options; you can only pick up enough for the number of waygates you’ve unlocked. If you choose a quest you realize you don’t want though, you can abandon it before completing and pick a different one.

Never even saw a quest pop up for them during the two lockouts, and nothing available at “Thaelin Darkanvil” either.

I was confused as well. Then I noticed a quest that starts at Camp Antonidas to unlock the waygates. The quest line ends at the dwarf, not starts.

renown 23 Ancient waygates VIII is bugged as well, the dwarf doesnt show to have the quest for the final waygate. /agryface

Same frustrating thing is happening to me
Having the same issue.
Blizz just keeps telling me there’s someone to talk to now for the quest, but I see no ducking quest & at this point it’s pissing me off. My Renown is at level 11 with the Dragonscale Expedition at this point
I completed Renown 23 with the Dragonscale Expedition today and it’s still bugged. I’ve changed zones, relogged… Thaelin Darkanvil is still not offering the final waygate quest.
Update: So I’ve completed Renown 24 with the faction, and still no final waygate quest.

Yeah… way past level req. Still no way-gate access. I recall (maybe?) I did the original quest with Thaelin, clicked the waygate next to him to complete a quest. Quest finished. Nothing exciting moved on. Now I know what they are, I cant use em.

Any fix on this yet?
I did two of the quests last week when I unlocked it. Boyfriend told me I’d get another at reset so Tuesday I went to do it and homeboy has no quests at all. I don’t have anything in my quest logs. I can’t find another quest that I may have missed. I completed two waygates so why can’t I do more? Clearly I have the rep unlocked so that’s not it. It’s just glitched.
I had picked up one of the waygate quests but did not complete it… after the patch yesterday it was gone from my log, but the phial to activate the waygate was still in the inventory (but it could not be used). No quest to pick up from the dwarf either.
I was hoping the latest patch would fix the problem, but it hasn’t (at least for my account). : (
Edit: It looks like my account finally obtained the achievement, although it’s oddly back-dated to yesterday (1/25).
