BfA still isn’t fixed 2.5 years later, wth would 1-2 months do.
And you’ll still be just fine. We all know how the beginning of an expansion is. Even if you got in the second the servers came up, and the switch was flipped letting us in, you would run into a bunch of people all doing the same thing. I’d be there. My group of people would be there. Literal groups upon groups of people coming together and enjoying the launch together would be there.
This doesn’t change anything. A polished launch with a better experience for all is better than sitting here and rushing a broken product. Which, in its current state, SL is broken.
Undo the calamity that is your mammaries, Karen. You can do other things on your vacation. You can listen to audiobooks or some other stuff. Do things that need to be done at your home. After all we know you are just going to buy the game again after a while when the game is all polished up. We don’t want another BFA 2.0 release or a game that is buggy as hell. At least blizzard decided to actually listen to feed back about the bugs in the game and is no longer being rushed.
Glad to see your trying to dust off Blizzard’s old Legacy “Release it when its ready”, Wouldn’t want another Warcraft 3 reforged! (which you could still turn around if you just threw some more people and money at).
Lets hope it isn’t too late to salvage it! (Blizzard’s old Legacy) What with Mike Morhaime back in the game so to speak! (DreamHaven).
No Pressure.
So proud of you guys for making this call and doing what needs to be done. Can’t wait to see the finished product.
Carry on…/tips hat
But see, I’ve been in beta for months, I’m ENJOYING SL.
And every beta is buggy still at this point, Legion was a mess.
Just when I thought old Blizzard values were completely gone you guys go and do this.
Bravo, for doing the right thing and probably upsetting your senior management. We are glad you heard us.
We appreciate it when you put the player experience above lining Kotick’s pockets even further.
Thank you, WoW devs, John, Ion. Thank you.
Big difference.
1-2 months before an expansion launches has more dev time devoted than six months during an expansion.
Once an expansion launches the team is split into one that starts working on the next expansion and the other team works on the first patch. Often the first patch work is done even as soon as beta starts.
But once the expansion launches devs can’t focus as much time as the last 2 months before an expansion launch.
I said they would need more time when they announced the release date and am happy to see them making the right decision. I enjoyed many aspects of the game in the beta, but felt they needed a bit more time to get it right.
I hope they can do it. Good decision!
But 1-2 months isn’t going to fix what 2.5 years couldn’t.
This isnt the problem. The vast majority welcome the wait and understand it. If they didnt announce the wrong release date. This screwed peoples that took time off for the release and returning players that hate BFA.
Im not part of them but i can understand why they are upset.
Yes it could if those 1-2 months come before launch. It would mean that the first and second patch wouldnt have been delayed by another 2 months each which means that frees up 4 months during the expansion as well.
They had to rob peter to pay paul which means they fell behind with BFA base game, patch 1, patch 2, patch 3, etc.
I just want my class to not be as buggy😭
Whatever you say, but I don’t believe it would in the slightest, i don’t think 6 MONTHS would have fixed it.
It’s been like 8 years now, when you going to just give up the ghost?
I never give up:call_me_hand:t3:.
When they can iterate and change as they please. Not having to jumble up major changes into a live patch. They can do more than you think. At least they are trying.
Alright, take your time to iron out the kinks, but please give us the pre-patch soon, at the very least.
Think about this way.
100% of dev team with experienced devs working 2 months before launch
or
25% of the dev team working on the base game after launch with the other 25% working on new patches. And the remainder experienced devs working on the new expansion.
if they have to pull the experienced devs or the patch team to work on the base game that slow down patches and new expansion development.
It is as simple as I can explain it.
Glad to see the delay on launch but prepatch still coming out. It is unfortunate for the people who requested time off but that’s why there’s a grace period before anything serious starts up (ie: raiding, pvp season, m+ season)
I would much rather have a finished game than a rushed one. We don’t need the conundrum with Azerite armor again and in the end everyone will still have time to play even if it’s between shifts. Remember to stay safe everyone!
