An Update on Shadowlands

Thank you for taking the time to do it right!

Shout out to the hard work of everyone who has put work into our next adventure. From the devs to GMs, Art team, and all else.

Now for the community to mature up and stop REEEEā€™ing and abusing things on beta. We have an opportunity to make this THE expansion in a world we all love.

Be kind to one another and help out the new adventurers and returning war horses.

This is going to be a sick expansion, itā€™s up to us to make the best of whatever may come despite what we agree or disagree upon.

Nice! Since youā€™re on a roll of good decision making. Can we also have wholly unlocked essences so returning players for pre-patch arenā€™t behind?!

Good choice. As much as Iā€™d like to play Shadowlands Iā€™d like to play a ready Shadowlands more.

See this guy gets it. Why canā€™t everyone else.

I donā€™t understand the initial reaction then.
You were saying I need to grow up, as if I was throwing a fit or something.

Nothing like that is occuring.
Just voicing my opinion, like others are also doing.

I expected them to delay it this whole time, honestly.

We donā€™t know why. They just said theyā€™re delaying it. Could be bad bugs. Could be a design change. Could be a lot of things. But itā€™s a little premature to assume what caused it if theyā€™re not going to tell us.

What a stupid post, I am a Trump supporter and I think this is a smart move on Blizz part.

why are you thanking them? they are not doing because they love you, they go to work like all of us.
would be different as, thanks for staying extra hours at work to deliver what you told me you were going to do.

This is really bad. There are people who have paid to restart their account for the month prior to the expansion who have been made a fool and basically paid for nothing. There are people who have taken time off for launch, only to had their vacation time wasted by Blizzard lying about launch date. None of these people affect me, I pay regardless, and the only real downside is more time sitting around with nothing to do but be bored with the game.

While I understand why theyā€™re doing it, and itā€™s probably better for the game assuming they donā€™t waste this time also. They still hurt a large part of their player base by announcing a date without knowing if they could meet it, and leaving us with even more time of nothing to do.

He lives rent free in your mind.

While disappointing, I understand your dilemma with the pandemic in which employees must stay home to work. Iā€™d rather have a polished expansion than a rushed product. Be well, stay safe, thank you for a fabulous game.

For a company that charges 18$ a month to use their service you basically baited out millions of dollars by doing this.

If blizzard doesnā€™t give us free game time for this blunder iā€™m gonna say blizzard just fooled me into subbing for shadowlands.

I donā€™t understand why everyone is so happy about this. They gave themselves a release date that was too soon and all of us knew it but blizzard.

As much as i can respect that covid has affected their work environment no one asked them to give an oct 27 launch date. They did that, they were wrong and now we literally are going to pay for it.

Cmon blizzard, free game time. Itā€™s the only way im not gonna feel cheatedā€¦

This is the way

ThatĀ“s totally fine by me. Take your time, make classes and their abilities fun and get gamesystems right
Please also keep on going fixing gameproblems after release.

Iā€™m confused on what people think a couple weeks of delay is going to fix? :joy:

Do these people think this means #pulltheripcord is going to happen or something?

I can almost bet there will still be bugs and launch issues. There will still be balancing issues. This is WoW people.

Sigh.

Dunno about that but this delay certainly raises expectations for the Shadowlands launch.

I wonder how much the ghost of Mike Morhaime walking the halls of Blizzard HQ and the emergence of Dreamhaven had to do with the decision. lol

Thanks Blizzard for the information.

Itā€™s still this year, so they donā€™t have time to fix Covenants. Beta must be really buggy right now. At best it gives them time to realize how broken Covenants are.

I hope this doesnā€™t mean there will be a long prepatch. If the expansion is going to be significantly delayed, Iā€™d prefer more time to progress on BFA content.

I know what this is. Itā€™s not the bugs thatā€™s the problem, the bugs can be fixed between now and the 25th. Itā€™s the people complaining about the Covenant system and Blizzard is caving and going to pull the ripcord.
