I’m all the evidence you need on forum moderation. Been banned at least 6 times in these parts, some earned and some that make you “Wait why?”.
Trust me, Blizzard polices these forums a lot better than they do in game. It’s a shame really.
On topic: If rules are stated before the invites go out, and the guild/party responsible for running the raid doesn’t abide by the rules that were stated, that is against ToS. Back in the day, Blizzard would’ve absolutely took action.
But now, Blizzard is a shell of their former selves and will not do anything, other than say “Thanks for waiting 3 weeks to talk to us! I see this happened, tough luck my friend”. asks you to fill out a poll and a survey on how your interaction was
I was in a few guilds like that, I did however make my own. So in turn i and my friend get the drops, but we share what we cant use. Or sell them. Being a hoarder like the guild that had a pug, youve always need to be wary of that.
Use chat when joining a pug. Ask them to clarify the loot rules in chat before starting because doing so essentially makes it a binding contract. Any moves made not adhering to their stated rules will be used against them and usually results in the reversal of the item and given to the appropriate players. At least that’s how it was done back in the day when Master Loot was introduced.
Thus was common back in the vanilla days, even expected. In other words, you wouldnt get loot until you had run enough raids to ‘deserve’ loot chance. The way the guilds look at it, it is their time and effort to learn the boss fights, so unless you are going to be coming back to help them again in the future, you dont get geared up. Some guilds would implement a points system like Zero-Sum to make this scheme more fair, but it was still the same idea. You couldnt build up enough points unless you attended multiple raids. The only time you could get gear is if all guildies pass, as hand me down loot. Again, this was vanilla raiding days and I bet a lot has changed for most guilds.
Its sad there are forum trolls, but not so bad as the character balance whiners. It’s really sad that adults really care that much they have to log into a game forum to protect their guild reputation. I shouldn’t judge what other adults do with their time, but I certainly wouldnt want to be in the same guild as ninja looters. Its the same type of guild that invites PUGs then kicks them from the group for being low DPS or healing just because they dont want to spend the time explaining the fight or handling individual progression. In other words, again I shouldnt judge, but a group of losers that I and others should know about to avoid gaming with them.
What this guy said. This is important. Granted the ninja looted item probably won’t end up with you, but it is something blizz can monitor the better for you.
I know exactly what guild this is because they would do the same thing on Classic Era Whitemane, was wondering where that guild went off to. After they got blacklisted by everyone they vanished.
