Language changes, the definitions of words change, colloquial meanings sometimes aren’t reflected in the dictionary but there’s a reason many dictionaries have people tracking the evolution of language to… you know, update the dictionary.
Y’all think that words just… never change? How about literally, which people literally wept over for years even though it’s been used as figuratively for like 100 years?
Prescriptivism vs descriptivism is a dumb debate because one side is sticking its head in the sand and demanding that language never change ever because “that’s what the rules of language say” when English, for example, is a horrific monstrosity born from so many different languages and rulesets that don’t even come close to jiving with one another. It’s a germanic language that tried to borrow latin word rules! It’s bad!
Also racism is bad and condemning racists is not anywhere near the same level as being racist, send help.

I didn’t weigh in on Dave Chapelle at all because I didn’t watch the performance being discussed so I don’t have the context, just vague ideas. But I guess in Vorithal’s house we have no choice but to stan.
