and ill have you know

Man. If I didn’t know better, and didn’t know people were serious in this thread. The satire would be out of this world.

The lack of self awareness is baffling.

It’s like the spiderman pointing at spiderman meme, only calling each other racists, etc. to one up the other. No amount of virtue signalling will cover up what a terrible person you are.

Already shouted bingo with all the predictable drivel in this thread.

okay we get it we’re proud of you go queue up the next season of rick and morty

are you saying that people who claim bigotry is bad are actually the real bigots

Not interested. It’s rated ‘N’ for ‘Nobody should watch this’.

big·ot

/ˈbiɡət/

noun

noun: bigot ; plural noun: bigots

  1. a person who is intolerant toward those holding different opinions.

Every one is a bigot. What now?

do you know what the fun thing about language is? it is mutable and fluid. it changes on a whim as society shifts and words have meanings expanded from those found only in the dictionary. : )

That’s a shame, a big brain like yours would love it.

If you think condemning/speaking against/looking down upon actual bigotry against marginalized groups is also bigotry or at least equivalent, wild.

It’s only mutable and fluid when a group of people want to manipulate it to make themselves sound good. Perverting its original meaning to suit their argument.

You’re intolerant of any one who doesn’t think like you. Don’t like that racist’s opinion? Congratulations, you’re a bigot by definition!

Maybe find a new word.

you actually don’t know anything about language or even English itself, do you. there is no singular authority on a language. no one can make a ruling about what a word ~ACTUALLY~ means. society determines what words mean in a dynamic fashion.

pulling out the dictionary to be like “heh actually look right here ;))))” is the most reddit-tier thing I can imagine.

Maybe think a little bit past a dictionary definition.

I have a funny feeling you would love sitting down and talking to the blood elf poster way back when in this thread where he was crying about alt-right being a slur.

so much for the tolerant left :\

That’s what you get when the marginalized in an oppressive society rise up against oppressors. White people have been so ingrained at the aggressors (no not that guy)in the world through their nationalism, racism, and violence that it has become systemic in every level of society, both conscious and unconscious.

It is the responsibility of white people, whose, in some ways, very existence is harmful to marginalized groups and they must remain cognizant of that truth in history and work to better the place of those who have to fear for their lives when their only “sin” is being who they are.

White people only have to worry about being laughed at. LGBT, trans, and PoC have to worry about being murdered. And that is not right. And who imo is the greatest perpetrator of evil? Not the supremacist, though they are extremely evil and should be condemned publicly, but no, our greatest threat imo is the white “moderate” your grandpa/father/uncle who just wants to grill and mind his own business. Because they LIKE the world as it is. And they aren’t willing to help it change to make it safer for those less fortunate than him.

If you are white and you are not fighting for justice, you are just as much of a problem as the extremists, if not more so.

Definition of Nimrod

1 : a descendant of Ham represented in Genesis as a mighty hunter and a king of Shinar

Nimrod is described in Genesis as “the first on earth to be a mighty man” and “a mighty hunter before the Lord.” It’s easy to see how people made the leap from one mighty hunter in the Bible to calling any hunter a nimrod. A lesser-known fact is that nimrod has seen some use in English as a noun meaning “tyrant” (apparently, the mighty Nimrod was not reputed to be an especially benevolent king), although that sense is now essentially obsolete. The legendary Nimrod is also sometimes associated with the attempt to build the Tower of Babel. Because the tower resulted in the wrath of the Lord and proved a disastrous idea, nimrod is sometimes used with yet another meaning: “a stupid person.”

do you know what actually had more of an impact than anything on the current meaning of “nimrod”? Bugs Bunny.

like dang, the dictionary–authority on all words!–got trumped by Looney Tunes.

If you cannot tolerate a racist, etc. You are intolerant. Can’t just claim the dictionary wrong to suit your argument.

You can also be the oppressor whilst claiming you oppress oppressors.

Just because some one is doing some thing wrong. Doesn’t mean you doing wrong makes it right. You are not immune because of some one else’s actions.

The moment you can get away with awful behavior, you go straight for it. Just because you think you are justified.

oh my god they’re literally going for the “if you say racism is bad, you are as bad as the racists” angle

I’m living!!!
