AMS mentions specifically that it is immune to magical debuff types which is the point of this post.
Again, magical there refers to the source, not the dispel type. If you want to say itâs bad wording, confusing, spaghetti code, youâre right. If you want to say it should work on Silencing Shot, youâre wrong. It did not during the original game and it does not now.
âMagical debuffsâ does not refer to the source. It refers to the actual debuff.
AMS is not âImmune to all magic-sourced debuffsâ
AMS states âImmune to all magical debuffsâ.
Except that it did and doesnât now because itâs a bug. Linking me a video of a time when it was bugged does not make the tooltip nor the ability any less literal.

Show us a video where it worked as you say during original WotLK.

Itâs not a bug. The physical shot hits, and applies the debuff. Thatâs it. The reason, say, a frostbolt doesnât apply the slow is because the bolt itself is MAGIC. You take 75% less dmg from the frost bolt, but you are IMMUNE to the application of the slow because the magic effect is applied through a magical school.
The shot is physical. Thatâs why rogues can be silenced by silencing shot while they have cloak of shadows up. Same concept.
OP pressed his cookie cutter DK rotation and died to a Hunter so heâs salty. Nothing to see here. Move on, it isnât a bug.
